Why can't black artists enjoy the same success as this list?

This is stupid. no way a functioning adult thinks this way
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the lyrical content in the 90s was far more superior than the lyrical content we hear today. Which explains why alot of black artists today can not enjoy long-term success in the industry, you dumb fukker.

Edit:Bytch azz nikka.

Indeed bro.

People will always remember the most controversial in-your-face non politically correct rappers who didn't compromise their lyrical content for mainstream society or the record labels.

If the rap artist doesn't make whites uncomfortable like 2pac did,I'm not listening.

Touring arenas and stadiums plus they have affluent fanbases that can afford $100 nose bleed seats.

:yeshrug:most rappers, except for a minority are disposable to their respective record companies and don't hold much bargaining power, which is why they pay them a pittance, whilst the record companies get most of the profit. It's why record companies are so keen on pushing low quality unoriginal nu-hip hip. They know the relationship between rappers and record companies will always be exploitative unless they're lucky enough to be the Kanye of their generation.

Also, a lot of these cac rockers have a lot of staying power and they've spent decades honing their skills to be the best in their niche. They've also invested a lot in their brand and cultivating fans , so if a record company drops them, they could easily go indie or go to another record company still stay afloat. This important when negotiating contracts. With rappers, it's more do or die. It doesn't help that most rappers have succumbed to ghost writing, and are pretty much glorified performers. Also, people don't seem to respect Hip Hop enough to purchase hip hip albums. Most hip-hop heads just download their favourite artists album illegally. There's many reasons for this disparity.
