Why aren’t there many programs for black boys/men as there are for black girls/women?

I just want to repeat, we shouldn't be separating the genders. We simply do not have the societal structure necessary. Everybody else who separates like that does it in a heavily religious context where marriage is greatly encouraged and fostered. We do not.

What we'll end up with is two groups of well educated black children who don't know each other. They'll go to good schools already prepared to date out, eventually marrying out, and negating the entire point of the exercise by handing their generational wealth to future caucasians.

Majority of not all of these are coed.

There are programs in every major city that are geared to exposing inner-city black youth to non-traditional black activities while also providing them academic support and scholarship money to attend high ranking high schools, boarding schools, and colleges.

I doubt this is true.

But I am quite sure that many of the programs focused on black girls are started by women who experienced or saw an issue they wanted to help mend/fix.

The same can be done for black boys by black men. There are quite a few black men who have stepped to the plate and have created great programs to address issues.

In addition to that there are programs for black children in general. There is still a long way to go, but there are options out there.

Above the fray.
I've seen more programs geared toward black boys than black girls.

The whole National 100 Black Men organization is geared toward black male mentorship.

Including the Collegiate 100

And the Emerging 100

In my city, we have a whole high school, Urban Prep, geared toward the education of black boys. There isn't an all black girls school equivalent.

Every black fraternity has a program dedicated to black male mentorship.

FACTS. In fact, a lot of the Black school principals create mentorship clubs in their schools. (often patterned after and grooming centers for the Frats) I went to an assembly my younger cousin was in years ago. Principal had a photo of himself in his "school club" t shirt with his frat, Emmitt Smith ,near the entrance of the office.
I shook his hand, and told him that he was playing dirty with the Emmitt picture. He started laughing.

Lots of PWIs have Black Male Initiatives (BMIs)

There are countless programs for black boys and young men.

But you're not the only one on the Coli that doesn't seem to realize that they are out there.

Maybe you should start a follow-up thread asking folks to post any programs they know so we can keep an official running total and spread the word.

There won't be a follow up thread by the guy you quoted . I doubt that he cares about the well being, advancement, or grooming of young men. He is more interested in promoting paranoia, victimhood and the identification of an "enemy group" out to get him than he is in informing people about existing programs that currently help young men.

He's not interested in getting better, but in complaining.

Replace "Black women or feminists" with "The Boule" and we've seen this sentiment expressed here multiple times. Ironic, because many of the programs, initiatives, and foundations that provide the resources to help young Black men are created and funded by actual Boule members and wealthy Black men.

I always see program after program for black girls whether it’s mentoring, funding, coding or tech. But when it comes to focus on the black boys, they aren’t targeted as much.

Like I’ve only heard My Brothers Keeper, Know Your Rights and a few others, but for celebrities that are women, they give a plethora of options to black girls.

The younger black men, especially coming from the new generation need more guidance and assistance.
and most of the programs that do exist for black boys/men are empty. they provide no real tangibles.

a race war is being waged on black people via the destruction of the black men. black women will learn

In my opinion black boys are more likely to link up together naturally than black girls from Sports, music, jokes and almost everything it’s impossible for a black men to not make friends with each other as opposed to black women who are insecure about everything them hanging with each other breeds jealously and envy. Black girls tear each other down over everything. Most beef with black men is from other black men they don’t know. How many times in your life did you know someone you wanted to fight but when y’all met y’all became friends sometimes brothers?

Is this a real post? I ask because just seconds ago, I read your post in another thread which stated
people are threatened by intellect, particularly from a black man.

black people condition other black people to value trinkets and a backwards culture for their own personal comfort.

people realize that if you can think for yourself, the bullshyt games they play won't work.

nothing more, nothing less.

also, there are numerous forms of intelligence.
How can you dismiss the several programs that exist as "empty and not offering real tangibles"?

Mentorship from concerned Black men, academic tutoring, standardized test prep, IT skills instruction, and scholarships aren't valuable resources ? HOW?

:dwillhuh:Maybe it’s b/c I’m in education but I see PLENTY of programs for young black males. In fact, the programs for blk girls arose b/c there weren’t as many targeted towards girls traditionally.
I can compile a list but it wouldn’t be exhaustive b:c there would be even more at the local state level.

I honestly didn’t even know this was a thing...:dwillhuh: A lot of people in our community have been putting in work

Young Black Men of Honor
My Brother’s Keeper
The OK Project
100 Black Men of America in dozens of states
African American Male Initiative
Old North State Medical Society
National Alliance for Boys and Men of Color
100 kings
Empowering Young Black Male Leadership Mentoring Program
Hidden Genius Project
Simba Mentoring Program

You just don’t hear about them b/c the media is more likely to report on twerking, gangbanging, and shucking and jiving.

Not b/c it’s a gender issue.:dwillhuh::dwillhuh::dwillhuh:

I even tried to inform blk dudes about creating low cost mentorship programs on this website. I’ll find the thread.

The real issue is that there are hundreds of these programs but they are constantly undermined and underfunded.

Concerned Black Men
Boys to Men Foundation
Future Black Men of America
Black Boys Code
Brotherhood Crusade
Black Male Institute

These are just the ones specifically targeting young blk males. Other programs serve young blk boys as well. We used to actively recruit primarily for young blk males in government grant TRIO programs like Upward Bound, Ronald E. McNair Scholars, Opportunity Scholars Programs

because the destruction of black boys is the end goal in America
and a lot of people, including a lot of black people, are fully committed to that goal.

Whether they know it or not.

Underpublicized and under-utilized.

If your parents or the elders in your circle aren't resourceful, or if you don't have concerned counselors/teachers in your circle..........you will miss out on opportunities.

For example, there were headlines about the dismal acceptance rates for Black students at the specialized high schools in NYC a year ago.
Some Black people with resources, who aren't content to sit around and complain and smh, decided to take action. This was just one of the pro-active moves by Black alumni of those top NYC high schools.
