what im saying is it can be done dont even know why this thread was being made

they will make another terminator movie before after earth thats the problem tho :smh:

Because after earth isn't a brand and terminator is. Same reason they gave bad boys a release date (two) without a single star signed to be in it. Brands, franchises, they sell; that's what audiences want today.

and the thread was more so about all black casts, not just blacks in the lead roles.

All these movies existed at one point, it's just black culture has been erased from America and this is the age of the new blacks

I never meant black writers who do those genres, but I never meet a black filmmaker who is interested in making science fiction

It comes down to networking, black people don't fukk with each other enough so we can pool together are skills

Most filmmakers I know who have stuff out and produce their own stuff, do street movies

JT the bigga figga has his own netflex service called Trapflix, where you get a membership and get a library of hood movies

so I started writing a horror movie that takes place in a trap house, which would be low budget like paranormal activity, but the filmmaker I was trying to work with he has all the equipment and crew, started bullshytting

because at the end of the day nikkaz wanna do what they want to do, nikka wanna be the boss, they not gonna work together of another's idea, we competitive with each other too much

so the only way I can make the trap house film is to learn how to direct myself, buy all the equipment, and find a crew of actors to work with, and do it myself

this takes a lot of time, hence, why you don't see the diversity in black filmmaking

when back in the day, there was last dragon, posse, dead presidents, tales from the hood, etc

also black actor starred in this films all the time, but they are never called black movies

Candy Man was a horror movie about a slave

Denzel Washington starred in virtuosity in first action role

wesley snipes had passenger 57, drop zone, blade etc

will smith does nothing but sci-fi, also had a thriller enemy of the state

Jamie Foxx first leading role was in Bait which was a thriller directed by Antoine Fuqua

so the only real problem, black people who like these genres need to take up film and start producing these movies, it's that simply

be the change you want to see in the world

:comeon: Most people consider a "Black Movie", a movie with a majority Black cast. All the movies you listed have Black leads, but not a majority Black cast; so of course they're not considered Black movies.

No shyt sherlock, prime example of black people, always looking for someway to be combative

I was merely pointing out that black leading men can do those roles
I clearly stated they weren't considered black movies, but they could've easily been because the white roles in those movies could've easily went to blacks

You missed the point when I mentioned dead presidents, posse, and tales from the hood
when I gave example of how we had the diversity in black film making

probably didn't even read my post, always looking for some way to argumentative get that weak ass shyt outta here

It's simple...the ones that do come out suck, period. I don't know what kind of cast y'all would expect to be in these type of movies. If you want to watch shytty acting just because it's an all black cast go watch some Leprechaun in the hood my ninjas.
