Because machines only kill manual labor jobs and a lot of people don't have manual labor jobs

Better get a skill that can’t be replaced with automation or have a job that can’t be replaced with automation.
But what about the 90% of people who don’t want to

You’ve seen that thread with the insta hoe crying cause her shyt got deleted

Its too far down of an issue like climate change. People don’t care about issues until they blow up in our faces.

This is a more pressing matter than climate change in terms of how soon we'll feel the effects. it's quite possible that very soon, less than 10 years, call centers will no longer exist and that's only ONE sector that will be effected.

When these jobs go away, it's different than losing a job and being able to find a job in the same field, the entire market will have gone away leaving millions unemployed.

Cause I personally will always bet on humans ability to be adaptive. People where worried about the same thing during the industrial revolution. And I’m not downplaying the net job loss that will take place during the progression of automation, I’m saying long term the economy will adapt.

Cuz this ain't the first time machines made industries more efficient and created job losses. It's happened throughout history. Just like new jobs are always created.

The thing about this tho is people think automation will just hurt poor people. But I think there was a graph that showed many middle class workers will get X'd out as well. A lot of folks do like 2 hours of work a day on a computer and watch YouTube until they go home.

You can't stop evolution, people have to adapt. I do hope there is UBI to take care of food and shelter for people. It needs to be vouchers/cards specifically for that, no cash payments.

Wrong... automation that's coming is far different than before . Cost of living is much higher . Theres simply not enough high paying jobs to replace the ones we lost

Automation has never and WILL never take over all jobs. People have been saying this since the cotton gin. If automation was like that, we'd have 50% employment now (considering how fewer farmers we need today than we did 150 years ago to feed everyone).
Part of the reason we don't have 50% unemployment right now is due to high taxes and government spending that keeps a lot of people employed.

How come nobody thinks tech jobs can't get automated in the future? I'm pretty sure quantum tech is gonna shake a lot of shyt up.

Honestly at this point I'm trying to get a trade, I think I'd like to learn it as a side hustle but we need more people with the ability to build and maintain the phsyical make up of our communities.
