Why are these music critics turning on Drake now?

And a critic should be able to take that into account. Ultimately, I'm interested in what knowledgeable people think. :yeshrug:
Problem is, there aren't any credible hip hop critics at this point :ohhh:

I'm only interested in what my ears hear :manny:

Your ears

Exactly. Throwing "music critics" out the window, the consensus is that this album is a dropoff from what people have been used to from Drake lately.... the overwhelming response is "we've heard better from Drake." Why is that so hard for you to accept? You speak of critics shaping the narrative yet you've been doing a yeoman's work trying to shape the narrative of the consensus' response to the album yourself. How is what you're doing any different?

That's obviously not true though. :manny:
Unless you've never:
  1. Read a music magazine
  2. Read liner notes
  3. Googled anything about an artist or song/album
  4. Had a conversation with someone about music
Now if you're making the point that you're interested in what other's think and their reasoning like any intellectually curious person would, but ultimately you value your judgment over that of a critic :manny:
But that's not what you said :jbhmm:
Not to mention the obvious, that if you truly only cared about what your ears think, you never would have clicked on, much less posted in a thread about what critics think.

I pay attention to what other people think, but I always listen to music first. If I like something (and Views is a good example), bad reviews aren't going to change my mind on it. If something is garbage, good reviews aren't going to make me like it either. That's all I'm saying :yeshrug:

No such thing as consensus

:dame: critics...

To me I stopped caring when I saw critics fail to give an album like Thriller 100/100, even in hindsight. Then you start realizing their opinions on music aren't what they should be held up to. Like most people, critics' rating scales are either biased, propaganda or have no consistent system.

When it comes to music, what makes their word better than yours or anybody else's?

Drake is a different type of artist

He's on the level of prince, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Adele, Beyoncé, ect.

They all get panned by the critics but the streets don't lie.

His albums sell 1 mil plus first week. Kenrick will never do over 300k first week, ever. Plus CACs are getting tired of kendrick and those are the only people who buy his albums.
:what:
So much nonsense in this post.

-Cacs getting tired of Kendrick?

How...if anything "cacs are tired" of Taylor Swift being as how much she has been in the media the past damn year and a half. Kendrick name isn't even out there like that for people to get tired of.

Stop making up shyt just to shyt on Kendrick...take notes from @SirBiatch

Drake on a level as Mike and Prince? :dahell:
