Drake has never received that type of love from critics, I think IYRTITL era was the first time dude was universally acclaimed, even then it wasn't as much as Kendrick received.

I'm not the biggest Ye fan but I assume people are less critical of him because he (for better or worse) changes up styles between albums.

Joe Budden is clearly a Drake stan and even he was talking about Drake essentially been making the exact same types of songs since day 1, and "Views" is a version of "Take Care".

Kendrick makes more cohesive albums and appears more willing to take chances(despite being an abysmal writer). With the exception of IYRTITL Drake just kind of makes the same okayish album over and over again and drops his good songs as one offs in between projects.
