Why are there barely any young black adults in church?

I haven't been to church in over a decade

somewhere a long the way, all the dudes in there were FLAMING homosexuals

and i'm talking about various churches I visited in college, different states and cities

I have no problem with them. but if you're not that way, it makes you feel out of place

I’m hearing this a lot lately.

Can it be explained?

@Wanya Morris have you talked to you pastor and others within the leadership about this?

Maybe it's God's plan for you to take a leadership role and bring more young adults into the church?

You don't necessarily have to be the minister to young adults, but perhaps director of outreach with regard to young adults would be your thing.

Sometimes when you see void, you have to be the one to take the initiative and fill it.

I'm 23. I've tried going back to church during my teen years. I believe in God and accept Jesus. I'm going to be real, yes we're all sinners. Most people at church so phony or go out and do the same shyt. Why waste my time? I can't even retain the sermon because it's boring. I try to do right in the life. I'm no saint but at least I don't judge and give mutual respect to those who give it.

Where do you live? There are dozens in DMV. I assume probably the same in an ATL or HOU

And the congregation is made up of the uneducated with an associates or a high school diploma. People with higher education tend not to be bothered with organized religion anymore.

AA Culture is dying out on all levels and the youth are being assimilated.....the black church was 'our thing' no matter how you feel about it

I'm old enough to remember when tattoos was white boy shyt and if you had one and wasn't in the military you got clowned now everybody and they 35 year old grandma got one

Most of the younger generation might as well be dark skinned cacs they have no foundation, pride or sense of community the respect is GONE
