the real question is if your ticket cost more than your attorney why would you not get legal representation so you don't have to worry about going to court or not going to court losing or getting a warrant.

call the highly rated traffic lawyer and he'll make it all go away

when you get that letter in the mail that the sheriff's are looking for you over some chump change you going to feel like a dumbass

Maybe it's just something they do around here but going to court and pleading guilty almost always "rewarded" with a fine and no points
I tried to contest a few times early in my driving career thinking like you and lost every time and once got laughed at by the court room. It's your word vs the police in what's essentially a civil fine (ie:the burden of proof on the cop is basically non existent), you going need like crazy evidence to ever win imo

It depends how serious the tickets are. If it’s for a window tint......the fine ($50 in jersey) is not worth the fight. However, if it’s some serious shyt!!!! You better. I once got three tickets all the same evening. Reckless driving, DUI, and DWI on a school zone.
Penalty if found guilty:
$4000 (ticket fees)
$700 (6 dui classes)
8 month license suspension
No traveling to a developed country for 7 yrs. Check celebrities that get DUI they can’t travel. It happened to Justin Bieber a lot. Even DJ envy said when he got DUI...he couldn’t travel to Canada
Most insurance won’t mess with you for 3 years. If they do they would be charging me $1200 per month for an M3
Some Employers don’t mess with dui too

So what did I do: I had to fight it bro. There was so much evidence against me. It wasn’t even funny. Like passing out on the back of the cop’s car when got arrested. All on video.

Looked for a really GREAT lawyer because I didn’t want a dui. That’s when I learned in the law sector.....there is a tiny subgroup of of lawyers called “high level lawyers.” I talked to two and they referred themselves as that because of the price quote. Even a doctors bill before insurance doesn’t look like this. When you research about these lawyers most are law professors in law school, former successful prosecutors, been in the game for long and is respected and well known in the courts. For all that, It wasn’t an easy price.

Average DUI lawyer was $3000

The lawyer that I hired charged me $9800 just to represent me.

To cut the story short whether y’all believe me or not:

Those three tickets were thrown out but I was told to pay a fine of $126.

O.P just to answer your question....traffic tickets vary in prices and penalty. If it will affect your life.....you better fight it

ATL, but rasied in DMV
I guess this is somewhat related, but I almost went to jail down here in Mcdonough, a small city about 20 or 25 miles south of Atlanta, just for being five minutes late to court for a speeding ticket. I was new to Atlanta at the time, and I guess this was their way of welcoming new Black transplants (like they don't already benefit from all the money we bring down here). They still have a history of doing this nonsense to non-Black transplants. Then that redneck judge told a joke that he said he heard on "Sanford and Son" the other night - ha ha ha...smh.

Anyway, this practically stopped me from wanting to go to court for anything down here, even if I'm the plaintiff. I guess this would make a lot of people just plead guilty and not come to court, if coming to court for a traffic violation that didn't even lead to an accident can land you in jail. I tried to explain to the judge that I was still new to the area, and my new GPS (which were just becoming popular), gave me the wrong directions, even sending me down a one-way street, and that I even left 45 minutes early. But that didn't matter to him. I actually saw a brother get locked up that day because he went to the wrong court room, even though he showed up early...and this was a cleaned cut brother who looked like he never stepped foot in a jail. He couldn't believe he was being locked up. He had the same shocking look on his face like Rayshard Brooks did, after Brooks gave that sincere explanation to those cops, and was arrested anyway, before he was gunned down by that pig. Then you wonder why this country got the pandemic, and got worse, while they still refuse to wake up, like Egypt refused to totally wake up. Anyway, I'm not sure how long that brother had to stay in jail, or how long that judge was going to put me in jail. He did make me pay a 25 dollar fine for those five minutes for being late, plus I had to pay the 150 or 180 dollar speeding ticket. I just didn't get any points. Never did I experience anything like this in all my years growing up in the DMV over a speeding ticket. Shyt still sounds retarded to me.

I probably answered the OPs question, and some.

This is what I’m getting at. You got people out here committing shyt like murder, pleading not guilty and saying “prove it. :sas2:

please believe imma exercise my rights! My court scene was hilarious. Prosecutor was up there fumbling papers before the judge dismissed it for lack of evidence. :banderas:
I bet most people don’t know they can actually push back and negotiate in the first place. I had a speeding ticket during my first year of law school and I walked into court ready to plead not guilty, but I was surprised at first by how many people showed up and ended up pleading guilty or no contest (but if you plead no contest then they’ll just find you guilty on the spot).

I spoke with another person there and he was told to show up to court if he wanted to fight the ticket, but nobody told him you have to plead not guilty. He thought just showing up would get him a break but the courts don’t explain that you have to push back at least once in order to get that break. I got him up to speed before he was called up there and he got his ticket reduced later but I couldn’t get to anyone else in time.

I was caught red handed speeding through a school zone. I was looking up traffic lawyers and curiosity got the best of me. How is it that traffic lawyers can just get your ticket tossed? I started googling and thought what the hell. I'm going to fight the case myself pro se and see what happens. I'm a little obsessive about shyt so I spent like a month looking up traffic laws and ways to beat a traffic case. I had a whole binder full of arguments and questions to ask the cop about the case. Questions around how he tuned his radar, if he could remember if there were any metal objects around that could have impeded the device, I had multiple pictures of the scene that showed things that could have impeded the radar, manuals of the radar that shows the correct way it must be tuned and questions validating if he operated it or not. I even had maps printed that showed the speeding sign and where I was pulled over so I can verify if the cop could truly remember and if he didn't then how could the court know he was telling the truth. I was UBER prepared.

My first court date the cop didn't even show up. This was my first line of defense because I always heard that if the cop doesn't show up then the case is automatically showed up. I moved to dismiss the case and the judge was like "naaaah I'm going to grant a continuance to give the cop a chance to show up at the next date"

Me: "I object!" (lmao) "If it was me who didn't show up I highly doubt the court would show me any reprieve"

Judge: "Actually I would. Continuance granted"

Damn.

So the next court date comes around and the cop actually shows up. He gets on stand and I start grilling the shyt out of em, going through my all the arguments and stuff I had from my binder. He was so flustered. The prosecutor was looking in bewilderment like.

:merchant:

The cop was PISSED. Like how dare this n*gger come in here questioning me and how I did my job. At the end the judge said she literally have never seen someone defend themselves so well in a traffic case and that she was really impressed....then she found my black ass guilty.

:mjlol:

Afterwards the cop, still visibly upset came up to me arguing about how he actually didn't do anything wrong and how I was wrong blah blah blah. I just laughed at him and said man I know I was speeding. I just did this shyt cause I didn't have much better else to do and wanted to see how it works. This pissed him off even further. I shook his hand and laughed. I held my head high that I defended my self from the evil system even though I lost. I never felt so American.

:wow:

LMFAO My nikka

cause people prefer their time over a fine....up to a certain amount

If I am not guilty and its gonna cost me upwards of 100 bucks I am becoming Perry Mason, Johnny Cochran and Harvey Specter

I have my own traffic violation problem here in PA. I'm 3k deep with my lawyer and still actually owe another 750.00.

All yall have encouraged me to keep fighting this BS.

I just told my bff earlier I feel like going to law school just to represent people in traffic court and criminal traffic court. The shyt is predatory and really just to support the local economy and fuk with people.

If anyone knows any super lawyers in in eastern / south eastern Pa lemme know. I swear mine is just collecting money ... had to appeal my shyt at the county level cuz he struck out with the district court :stopitslime:
