The irony is, no other country in the world has hardcore gangtser rap like America. No one has guns to kill in order to author these songs about shooting people and stuff.
So once you take it away, all the rap artists are going to sing about what? Stealing oranges from the supermarket.

Well you see, all those things can kill, but only guns are designed only for killing. Additionally, guns are by far the easiest way to kill people. To kill with a chainsaw, you need to surprise someone, because unless their slow as shyt most people can outrun someone carrying a chainsaw. Swords require training to use well, and no one walks around carrying swords.... (or chainsaws). Knives, i mean u gonna say no one can cook with knives now? Knives are used for good much more than for bad.

Ur other points are huge logical flaws. Wtf does food and cigarettes have to do with guns? You choose to eat food and smoke, you dont do them with the intent or belief that you will die from them, and your doing it to yourself. In the near future there may be more restrictions on those things than guns :snoop:

Kinda missing my point. I'm not trying to cape for guns, but I'm saying as a neutral hypothetical situation what would actually happen with an all-out effort at outlawing these firearms or even eliminating them altogether. The reactions will bring up all these points, saying that guns are also used for sport, hunting, and as collectors' items, not just as devices for killing other people, whereas other items can be used for killing potentially.

For a similar example, think about the reaction to the Redskins' name change. So many Skins stans and hardliners are so against it, they try to say "Well what about this other team's mascot? That has to offend another group, so stop singling out our team!"

Who knows? Maybe guns are still around so that governments and society can narrow out the ways psychopaths will hurt and kill others. I mean, if they are going to kill anyway, then why not subversively give them one option instead of leaving them to their wild and unusual devices? :yeshrug: Of course, it may not work all the time (re:Boston Marathon), but it's worth a shot.

Guns escalate the situation, if your house was being robbed, typically the robbers aren't there to kill anyone, but if you come down the stairs carrying a shotgun now they're scared for their life and may shoot you on the spot. Most criminals don't want to kill you. But I also respect why many people would want to have a gun to protect their fam or possessions, but it certainly can cause problems too.
All this comes down to is training on how to deal with the situation... not the guns themselves.

Do you really think I'm going to leave the choice up to the criminal or I'm going to guess what his intentions are??

Sorry I've chilled with real killers and some of them are down for whatever.

A robbery can turn into homicide/ rape for intimidational purposes.

A robbery can become botched simply because they know ur home.

Look at the story that I posted about my mom the robbery became an attempted kidnapping and she had no firearm...

Statistics will tell one story but they never tell the whole story.

honesty if this country was a lot different and a lot safer I'd be all for removing guns (not completley but think Canada style gun control)... but it is the way it is.

I feel like this study is flawed. Why even bring up suicide, that person would find a way to kill themselves anyway. Since the study was don from the perspective of public health all it does is count the bodies and see if there was a firearm present in the home and use that to calculate risk factor. It doesn't differentiate why and how person died. If it was self-defense or etc. If a man uses his firearm to kill his wife do you really believe if he didn't own a gun he wouldn't just kill her with a knife in the kitchen?

Why should I be at risk because some other clown was irresponsible?

Don't like guns or Don't feel comfortable around them? Don't buy them.

The criminal element will always have access to guns .

I like guns and have owned/fired many types.

Fact remains that having a gun in your house is way more likely to harm innocent people than it is to protect yourself against violent criminals.

It's proven that too many people don't practice the necessary gun safety. Something like 45% of gun owners don't even have proper locking/storage options.

Like I said has nothing to do with the gun, which is an inanimate object and moreso to do with people. That's why I don't go by the stats because it's only part of a much larger picture.

I have my experiences so I'll just have to agree to disagree. America isn't a Utopia we have opportunity not complete peace. There's tons of things that have to be fixed before we get to the point where firearms wont be needed at all.

In reality the fact remains having a gun in your house and being an irresponsible and untrained dumbass is more likely to harm innocent people.

Gun control is fine in my book but to eliminate it as an option and have to rely on corrupt police and etc? That's silly.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Guns just make if more efficient. Every genocide in the history of this world post Industrial era involved laws banning guns and the disarmament of citizens. The govt took over after that and the citizens had no way to protect themselves. Its hard for Americans to think about this as things aren't all that bad right now but if you choose to ignore history then you are bound to repeat it. The biggest problem in this country is the culture behind guns. I think its Sweden or one of those countries where every citizen is armed, and their gun crime rates are non existent. Culture drives murder rates and not the weapon of choice.

they'd prolly go back to rapping about their knuckle game like they used to do. tf point were you trying to make? :wtf:

Anyway I feel people should have to right to carry but they get yearly training and certifications in order to retain ownership. well trained weapons owner will better defend themselves and will be less likely to kill innocent people due to panic or irrational fear. plus it would give us the opportunity to weed out people we might think are crazy.
