check the constitution. One of the reason America will never get invaded is because we(citizens) have guns
It's like this:

Foreign Country 1: Hey lets invade America!
Foreign Country 2: We have guaged their military strength. Together we can beat them!
Foreign Country 3: Have you guaged their civilian strength? They have weapons too.
Foreign Country 1: Back to the drawing board...

Two words. Gun lobby. The people who make guns also pay for politicians and generate mad propaganda which riles up citizens. You are 40x more likely to shoot someone who lives in the house than a burglar, so the whole thing is insane. People actually put their families at risk instead of protecting them.
bullshyt the amount of people killing their own family members with firearms would be way more.

280+ million guns in america

The country was started with a violent revolution so there is a gun culture that won't be undone. I don't think the solution is to ban guns.

When dudes ran up in my crib and my mom pulled up in the driveway and noticed something was wrong only to be grabbed by masked men who then tried to kidnap her. She fought back and got out of the car, but her clothes were caught in the door and she was dragged 100 ft. she could've used a firearm to protect herself or buy some time and flee. Luckily she only had scraps and a broken collar bone. However, there was no firearm we had to call the police.

The police heard my moms accent and proceeded to take 1hour to get to my house, btw there was a police officer who lived on my block who didn't do shyt cuz he was a racist cac. When the police finally showed up they started asking my mom how she was able to afford all the shyt in my house... come on

Yall can rely on the cops if you fukking want... They'll only be there to take pics of your dead corpse. The avg response time is way too slow to save people who's lives are truly in danger. Proper training with a firearm is 1000x more of lifesaver than it is a danger to your family and others as long as the person is a responsible adult.

Even though we should have some gun control (the heat some dudes are packing recreationally is just crazy), guns will never be illegal because some might say that there's a lot more things that should be outlawed for potentially killing you.

Why keep marketing and selling fatty foods that clog your arteries and give you irreversible health problems? Why make cigarettes legal if they've been proven to fukk up your organs? Knives, swords, chainsaws? Potential killing machines. Alot of our technologies have been weaponized (electronics, devices that create fire, etc), so what about them?

The bow and arrow and crossbow were some of the first firearms, should these be outlawed too?

Just like any technology, guns have a purpose besides harming and killing other people, but fukkups have made firearms the ugliness that they are today. Sure there's way too much firepower in some guns, but we alos have to look at the user. Also, human nature is way too advanced to just let guns be illegal. If you have the resources and the time, anyone can just make a portable killing machine that can rival any gun. Take away guns, and that new device will take over.

I get your point, and we need to be aware of gun violence, and figure out a way to curb this disturbing trend, but I'm answering your question on why people still have them on their hands and can walk freely with them. This goes beyond the laws and constitution; this is more of an ethics/human nature argument.

Perhaps America should try to imitate Canada's gun laws, we're doing pretty well :whew:

Sort of. The reason we have guns in our constitutional is to protect ourselves from foreign governments and our own if it comes to it.

Making all guns illegal to own will give the government more power to do more harm without the public intervention
Our military is what protects us from foreign countries and if the gov wanted to kill us, firearms won't save you. They have drones breh

Well you see, all those things can kill, but only guns are designed only for killing. Additionally, guns are by far the easiest way to kill people. To kill with a chainsaw, you need to surprise someone, because unless their slow as shyt most people can outrun someone carrying a chainsaw. Swords require training to use well, and no one walks around carrying swords.... (or chainsaws). Knives, i mean u gonna say no one can cook with knives now? Knives are used for good much more than for bad.

Ur other points are huge logical flaws. Wtf does food and cigarettes have to do with guns? You choose to eat food and smoke, you dont do them with the intent or belief that you will die from them, and your doing it to yourself. In the near future there may be more restrictions on those things than guns :snoop:
