Why was this moved to The Race Track? Suicide is a societal issue. It has no color.

Not sure if it has been stated in the thread already but the women whom are considered the MOST desirable, Asian women, have the HIGHEST suicide rate.

REALLY?!

Why do you think that is :lupe:

Ofcourse it was @concise who moved it. I PM'd and he said he read it and it was a 'serious' racial issue.

What a joke.

This is a social and mental health topic and should be in TLR. I hope @Brooklynzson or @cook move it back.

People can't even talk about mental health without some idiot mod going on a power trip for no reason.

I have read articles which attribute the high suicide rate amongst Asian women to the push to achieve. But in my experience, Asian women spend a LOT of their time pretending to be something that they are not in order to keep what they have (husband, lifestyle, etc.) Life can be miserable if you have to continue to keep up a fascade (ie maintain the stereotype of the perfect woman)

My guess, it has "black women" in the title thus making it a topic geared toward a particular race, so naturally it would belong in the race track

My OP clearly states what coping mechanisms do they use that can be used to help other people.

So it's not about a specific race it's about mental health and how we can implement various methods to help other people (of any race)

This was meant to spur a wider debate on what characteristics make people more prone to suicide than others but OFCOURSE the idiot who read it saw 'black' and decided to move it to TRT.

Of course the original women would be the strongest women on the planet. She is mother of all women!

Although I know that it is meant as a compliment, the sentiment also hurts black women as well.

The label of "strong black woman" is somewhat insulting in that it burdens black women as the opposite of what it means to be a woman. Because of this label, black women are viewed as the antithesis of the (many of the) stereotypical qualities that define a woman: feminine, vulnerable, demure, gentle, soft spoken, submissive, etc. "Strength" and "independence" are viewed as masculine traits and its one of the reasons that black women are viewed as the least feminine or the most masculine. And many of us sadly reject the traits that make us more feminine.
