Why are black people in south/Latin America completely missing from their society's public sphere?

People in here comparing the us to issues in poorer nations... the only difference is the US used slaves in a way that allowed it to become a world power.... ever nation in the Americas is equally racist, including Canada... all things being equal. Cac gone cac everywhere.. its the blacks down there that need to get their head right

brazil had more slaves than the us, that is why they have more black people than the us, and the biggest black population outside of africa

the blacks cant get their heads right because they arent "black", as tommy explained

yeah, and?

Nikka can you read?

Latin America has had a history of fighting back shading injustice, racism, poverty and oppression.

Imagine if during the civil rights movement Russian military killed(or funded the military force against it) all the demonstrators and key organizers of the movement?

That's what happened in a lot of countries.

In others facist dictators simply stayed in power (Chile,Argentina)

All of this going on while the majority of the Latin American population is battling poverty and a below par education system.

How can you have social progress under those conditions?

He doesnt care. He just wants to shyt on them. LOOK AT US, LOOK AT THEM, THEY SHOULD BE...THEY AINT..

has no idea wtf he's talking about. Brazil is very much more about classism than it is racism tho. Black is not ugly in Brazil like it is in america. African culture thrives in Brazil, while we had to create our own.

2 fukking different planets, no need to even put them in the same field, one is soccer another is baseball.
they're represented in the media according to their population. they just dont have 350 channels like we do, I'd be surprised if they had 50. but they're out there. prados are DEF in the media. negros are too, but small percentage, which reflects their small percentage. many blacks are poor, which is to be expected since they are disadvantaged much like us. many prados and blancos are too, as well as amazonians. they have similar problems, but have things that are better than us as well. I love how they kept their african culture, that is what really attracted me to brazil. you see flares of it in every day brazilian life. youll have someone that looks like a blanco, but their grandmother was black and taught them how to samba. shyt like that. its interesting there.

i wouldnt buy that theory, lets take cuba for example, where the revolution succeeded, cuba is still racist as hell, power is in white hands and has no sign of leaving, whats your explanation for the racism in cuba?

breh, thats just some stupid shyt they put on the brochures during carnival or something, if black wasnt ugly in brazil brazilian media would be dominated by blacks (or whatever they call themselves)

the classicism argument is just a distraction, if most of the poor people are black, whats the fukin difference, its just a coincidence that the poor people are mostly black (or whatever they call themselves)?

First of Cuba has dealt with a dictator ship like countries I stated above (which limits social progress for obvious reasons)

In reality Cuba is not really racist like Brazil, we have national heroes, and celebs that are black and in everyday life you rarely encounter it like you do in America :ld:

Education and healthcare is great and equal (one of the few third world countries where people from EU come to study science and medicine)

Actually in Cuba you can get great and equal education for free

We have black scholars, doctors and in about every profession

This is coming from someone who had lived in both countries FVKK the propaganda I've seen both breh.

If Cuba was 100% democratic we'd easily have a black president by now.

how the fukk would they dominate in the media when the owners of the stations are not black or prado. :wtf:
did they not go through slavery? you expect slave descendants to be running TV stations, when they were freed AFTER us, AND had no civil rights movement? nikka STFU. We barely own like 2 stations out of the 350 and you expect them to own 1 out of the 50? LOL

nikka have you ever been to a favela?

I have.

count the negros, prados, and blancos. bet you cant. like a gringo who goes there and thinks he can tell. to him every single person except the chicks closest to the camera are black. when clearly majority of the people there are prados.

i dont understand what your point is, i explained in the first post what happened, the concept of civil rights was invented by dubois and the naacp under the notion that the freedoms given to whites should extend to blacks

in latin america there was no specific legal freedoms even if you are white that is why there was never a civil rights movement

and for the third time, i dont give two fuks about brazil's racial classification system, i think its corny as fuk

i dont have beef with black people (or whatever they call themsleves) in brazil, my point is that in terms of race the situation is worse than in the us, that is the only point ive been making, explaining why its worse doesnt change the fact that its worse

real quick

none of that is gonna change the fact that brazil is more racist than the united states

What the fukk does this even mean? What kind of mentality is this? nikkas comparing racism now like one form is better than the other? U think social issues in a country where a significant portion of the population is literally thinking about when that next meal is coming can even compare to the social issues of the fukking United States of America? the fukk is wrong with you nikkas

wtf does this have to do with the thread title:mindblown:

Ive already proven the thread title to be wrong now you nikkas want to move the goal post to comparing it to america, when that wasnt the fukking topic. Blacks and Prados, as I've already shown LOADS of actors and titles, are represented, that is contrary to the fukking title of 'completely missing from the public sphere" ei the media.

wow you nikkas will twirl around, make yourselves look stupid all for the sake of argument.

but but but its not the same as the U.S doe. thats not the fukking topic here. THEY ARE represented, theres shows with leads, all black shows, black presenters, black leads in novelas and movies, ALL films have black people in some form or another. wtf are yall nikkas smoking?????:damn:
