The original AA inhabitants went back to the USA where the money was (or maybe had to leave after there was no work??? I don't know), and the "new nikkas" don't have a connection to the original history enough to care. Remittances and other things are more important.
LB was an AA neighborhood...then caribbeans came...we vanished...then it just broke up into nothing. I saw what happened to the "negro center"...I was also trying to help with the youth programs. Shout outs to DESPA. There was conflict between English speaking black folks, french speaking black folks, and muslim "new arrivals". I had to keep a staff member from fighting one of the kids, and bro was only 3 years younger than me.
It is what it is. Brehs had a screening of Hidden Colors, too...Youth Center/Studio. A lil park.

The AAs left, can't depend on nikkas who didn't BUILD IT...to keep it.
AA breh went back down to the US in the 60s, and other black people came up, let that community center go to waste, etc.
I guess sending money back is more important

I think they different I got family in Toronto and their kids (cousins) are second generation Jamaican born in Canada but try their hardest to act Jamaican. I'm like cuzzo you don't have to eat jerk pork for breakfast while listening to Spragga Benz every morning. Then you got these Indian cooley nikkas that try to act like American nikkas but I'm like dude you FROM Pakistan

Differences were always noticed. It's human nature. You don't talk/dress/eat/think like this. You don't listen to this. etc.

It doesn't have to be a "weird" that makes you shun other regions.

That doesn't stop you from accepting those differences, but it is what it is.
