Too formulaic. They don't really do well in the box office, so most times the studio just DGAF.

Loved horror films all my life but you get desensitized by them as one becomes an adult.

I can only appreciate the efforts made in some like the first two Insidious films or The Woman In Black remake.
Small little things to maintain the creepy factor and story to keep me entertained is enough for me.

Best way to see modern horrors is at festivals where you only have a synopsis of the story.

Also too many modern horror films can't actually make a creepy atmosphere. That is much more effective than another jump scare.
