You cant learn the nuances of americans in acting school. That's like expecting someone from the U.k. to sing soul music

It's insane because our actors and actresses are far superior to their actors/actresses. Our movie awards prove that. Viola Davis alone has two Tony Awards, an Oscar, a BATFA, an Emmy, a Golden Globe and 2 Sag awards. She has more awards than all of their British actors and actresses combined. Have those Brits even won anything?? Viola was more than qualified to play Harriet. It's ridiculous.
Yes they're, our actors are classically traines as mentioned, not found working as a waitress or picked for their looks
They're actors trained to do just that, portray varying characters
Not for nothing and UK brehs can confirm this but I was watching John Boyega on hot ones and he said theater and the arts are tied in with after school programs in the UK so thats why a lot of British actors are getting on because they been doing that shyt since grade school

it’s apples to oranges
all those are American Hollywood films -
whatever’s the equivalent to Hollywood in the UK (they can pick any actors they want in their films & we wouldn’t have a problem))
If an American breh told people he wanted to study drama in school, how many people around him would accuse him of being gay?
I think this affects the pipeline of actors into the business.
There is, the chitlin circuit, it’s Black Broadway too.Let them keep Hollyweird. Black Americans/ADOS should try and create our OWN film industry. I know this post comes off as dap fishing but I believe it.
The producer at a college screening confirmed there was no audition, she just gave the role to Erivo. If the studio couldn't afford Davis and if she had prior engagements, then they should've went with a lesser known/less expensive Black American actress. My point is that our actresses have proven to be the best at what they do and their accolades confirm that. There was no need to go foreign.did she audition for the role?
could the studio afford her?
did she have prior engagements at the time of filming?
you coli movie producers have 0 perspective on the film industry?
Except theyre black you moron
I pointed this out in another thread. UK actors and actresses are able to nail accents and lingo some in america cant because they been apart of performing arts since they were young but in america you basically gotta have a ton of money to attend these schools for acting and the black youth who do attend normally come from white neighborhoods which is why they can land a role on the Disney channel but usually cant go further than that in landing a black role in Hollywood. Not for nothing and UK brehs can confirm this but I was watching John Boyega on hot ones and he said theater and the arts are tied in with after school programs in the UK so thats why a lot of British actors are getting on because they been doing that shyt since grade school
