It's insane because our actors and actresses are far superior to their actors/actresses. Our movie awards prove that. Viola Davis alone has two Tony Awards, an Oscar, a BATFA, an Emmy, a Golden Globe and 2 Sag awards. She has more awards than all of their British actors and actresses combined. Have those Brits even won anything?? Viola was more than qualified to play Harriet. It's ridiculous.

I think this affects the pipeline of actors into the business.

It's not the #1 spot that establishes this. It is the depth, breadth and quality of the factor being examined in a representative sample.

Catching up on the thread and these three posts stuck out to me the most.

@Sonny Bonds has alluded to a key point about why there's a dearth of solid Black American Actors that can take on serious roles; lack of training/exposure to acting. Viola Davis and Ali are probably the best Black American actresses/actors at the moment and both of them were trained at top schools Julliard for Davis, Tisch at NYU for Ali.

The bolded post is head on. You can equate Black American actors/actresses as having higher highs, but Black British for having a more consistent baseline as it concerns the ability of their actors.

Brehs referencing Denzel whose a classically trained actor. Sam Jackson, classically trained. Wesley probably the most trained out of all of em.

They from an era when being black, being "tough" and being in acting wasn't necessarily mutually exclusive.

Michael B Jordan is probably one of the most decorated black American actors of this generation and he probably wouldn't even be in the industry if his mother hadn't taught at an arts school.
