Menelik II
I wanna see receipts!
early spike was great, but from 2000 out just been trash . Some of them were unforgiveable, e.g. She hates me. Just saw some vampire shyt he did recentlySpike & Hitchcock makes the cypher complete

I wouldnt say he's great or anything but I do love his style. All I need is like 3 minutes in the beginning to know its a Fincher film based on the tone.David Fincher.
Made 2 of my top 10 films of all time in seven and fight club.
Yep mine too his influence is massive.Ingmar Bergman
Those are my number 2 and 3. Fincher is on another planet. Just need him to do another movie with Aaron sorkin

He did more piff prior to that than every other director besides Scorsese and Hitchcock tho. He's still in my top 3, with the other two I mentioned.early spike was great, but from 2000 out just been trash . Some of them were unforgiveable, e.g. She hates me. I liked Chiraq and Sucka Free City to add to the post 2000 list.
I like Bamboozled. That's 1 of my favorite Spike Lee joints. Inside Man was great and I like Miracle at St. Anna --- it just should've been trimmed down a bit.

Yeah, while not perfect they are dope. I would recommend Sucka Free City first with a young Anthony Mackie.I still ain't seen Chiraq and I never saw Sucker Free City.

I still ain't seen Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight.
Best run of any director
1973 Serpico
1974 Murder on the Orient Express
1975 Dog Day Afternoon
1976 Network
4 classics in 4 years?
I'm not sure there's a director I'd consider to be my "favorite". So many people have their ups and their downs. The guys tend to be more hit than miss also tend not have much variety in terms of what films they make.
Both are good but incredibly overrated. I tend to like Hateful Eight more than Django Unchained.
If I'm being 100% honest with myself what bugs me the most about Django Unchained is the way white folks reacted to the movie. Why folks talk about that movie like it's an actual historical account of things that happened and were praising the movie for it's gritty realism.
