I'm literally dying of laughter from this thread.

Yes, the Raiders are an important franchise in the history of this league, and yes, when they were in LA they helped dramatically shape the culture of the league, but come the fukk on, the answer is the San Francisco 49ers. Al Davis is probably the most iconic owner in league history, but he's basically all the Raiders can pin their hat on.

The fact that the Raiders have had probably the worst decade in NFL history means this conversation is a wrap.

:salute:

Yeah and we had Ronnie Lott, Roger Craig, John Taylor, Joe Perry, Leo Nomellini, Charles Haley, a piece of Deion Sanders...we can go toe to toe on those guys, but y'all don't have anybody in the elite "G.O.A.T." stratosphere, we have 3.
I don't even have beef with the Raiders or anything, I like y'all. But this ain't what you want cuz. :birdman:

:childplease: if the Islanders had Gretzky, Lemieux and were coached by Scotty Bowman.
point is two franchises with lots of chips but barely any relevance. at least compared to the other top dawgs (cowboys, raiders, steelers, packers). all those franchises have a bigger footprint in the league.

Which 3 are those?

And to be fair, we have the 2 GOAT punters :ld:

Arguing players or coaches is kinda pointless. Both 49ers and Raiders are pretty neck n neck in that category.

49ers have more wins. Raiders have had a bigger impact on football. This question boils down to which of those 2 do you think are more important.

I never knew Raiders fans were this delusional. They sound exactly like Knicks fans.

sorry, meant 2 (Rice and Montana).

I agree the players coach thing is basically a wash. 2 franchises who have made a great impact on the league. I honestly think the deciding factor in this (apart from Superbowls) is the Raiders decade of losing that has never been matched by the Niners. We have soared higher and never stooped as low. :yeshrug:

yes yes i knew you were going to respond with that. lets be real tho when people think of the nfl, the niners are like 4th or 5th on the list of great franchises mentioned.
would you say the Knicks are a better franchise than the Spurs just because they're more recognizable to people who know nothing about the NBA?
