He hardly ever makes in season trades. That isn't surprising. And it's probably a good thing he didn't trade for anyone. He probably would have made the roster even worse than it already is.

You know a player that would have been perfect for us? Jaden McDaniels. Easily one of the best perimeter defenders in the league today. But good Ole Rob Pelinka traded him away to the Wolves.
:stopitslime:

He didn’t give away Jaden McDaniels. He gave away the pick that ended up for him for Dennis Schroeder. It was a move that was universally praised and pre LeBron injury, we were the best team in the league and better than our Covid season. This is what I mean when I say hindsight is 20/20. Y’all(don’t mean you in particular) love the moves he does until they backfire and then it’s he’s the worst GM. Never forget the majority of this fanbase wanted to trade first rounders for John Wall(including Klutch who were pushing for it).

The only bad move was letting Caruso go. Y’all complain about non moves but we have multiple GMs and owners on and off the record admitting there is a Laker tax or downright refusing to trade their players there.

Then you have a big subset of this forum wanting them to trade every pick left for whoever cause they have no intention whatsoever to support this team post LeBron retirement.

They literally traded a ton last year, and the contracts all set up for an in season trade... DLO, Rui, and Gabe specifically

It 100% was surprising. Nah you don't get worse trading for a decent backup big to help out AD

I wasn't against that particular move at the time since both AD and Bron were just coming off the chip and were both seen as top 5 players but it was a terrible move in retrospective. Dennis eneded up being a one year rental and he was objectively bad his first year with us.

Ton of terrible moves you're leaving out.

Westbrook Trade
Gabe Vincent signing
Zubac Trade
Letting Randle walk
Mo Bamba trade
Nunn Signing
Signing players to 2 year deals instead of 3.
Hiring Ham as coach
Signing Nunn
Not Signing Malk Monk to the mid level exception
Signing Montrezl
Letting Brook Lopez walk
Not resigning Dwight Howard
Traded away KCP

These are some of the worst moves in the past 10 years.

It's wild we still have people clamoring for Dwight in 2024. :gucci:

Basketball is about matchups.

The guys that AD does not match up well against, Dwight has a better chance against. No one is saying Dwight is Magic or even Rockets Dwight.

What's being said is Dwight is not a p*ssy against opposing Centers, and he'll give valuable minutes in key stretches. He'll be one of the only guys actually fighting for rebounds on this team. We have a starting five of D'Lo, Reaves, Hachimura, LeBron and AD, and the only guy that ever puts actual effort into rebounding is AD, who is constantly double teamed on defensive and offensive rebounds.

We're one of the worst offensive/defensive rebounding teams in the NBA-- Dwight excels at that.

He plugs a lot of holes for the current construction of the team and he can be had for almost no money. Wood is injured with no return timetable and we have a raw center in Hayes-- why WOULDN'T you want Dwight back? He's currently in shape and ready to play. We NEED another center.

The nikka is literally campaigning to come back:
