The thing that led the Lakers to such a great record and run last year was the defense. This year, they are horrendous on that end especially past few months

DLO and Reaves need to both be great offensively in order to counteract their horrific defense as a backcourt

Quietly, Rui has escaped scrutiny for his terrible defense against anyone that can run faster than 3 mph.

Jared Vanderbilt being in this game changes the entire dynamic, because he'd have guarded Curry down the stretch, and given us an option for rebounding and shot blocking at the rim when AD went to go change his Tampax.

Not having our best defender has been KILLING us in these games.

It really is too bad about this team and this year, with a better coach they probably win 7-8 more of the games they've played so far this year.. maybe have a better chance at trading for a big at the deadline , and are fighting for a 4-6th seed instead of the 9-10th

At least last season we could say LeBron and AD both missed a bunch of games. Vando being out is not an excuse for the team being this pathetic defensively.

Its actually insane how bad this team is on the defensive end with a DPOTY guy in AD, and it's hard not to point the finger at Darvin

Pelinka gets blame for sure, but Darvin has a defensive scheme that does no one on the Lakers any favors. The funnelling of players to AD, only to then overhelp on the drive leaving players wide open from 3 hasn't worked all year and yet its a Lakers staple.

If the Lakers are just an average defense the past 2 months instead of one of the 5 worst they probably are fighting for a 6th seed

AD and Bron need to have minute restrictions and rest days for the rest of the season. Hope Denver doesn’t get the 1 seed and whatever happens happens :yeshrug:

Y’all keep blaming the coach :skip: This is not a 50 win team. If Morant was healthy this year this team would be tanking.
