I think in P's book he said that the original beat was the I Love You Baby instrumental from Puff's album. I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure that that's what he said.

I just checked the book. fukked up story. I guess Havoc made that beat (the OG Last Day beat) and 5 others. Someone stole the disc, Later on they heard I Love You Baby and realized it was another one of the beats that Havoc did that day. I'm listening to the song now. I bet Puff heard the original, and had his dudes remake it. it sounds like Hav but it also sounds like some extra shyt that Puff would've added in at the time, like the extra strings and shyt. I'm just guessing I could be wrong. But that's fukked up that Havoc got jacked.

Mobb > Lox

Prodigy > Jada

And I love Lox and I love Jada but Mobb just got to many Classics for them to compete. Jada's solo career is actually on par with Prodigy's. I think they are pretty even as far as killing features. It's the Mobb material that separates them. With that said, Jada did get him on this:

So happy when this dropped:

Yeah, Jadakiss is also one of the kings of killing people on their own shyt. Give him any 16 on anyone's album and they might have a problem in the getting outshined department.

All A Dream is dope too. I love that video. Even the video remind me of some 90's shyt. Same with the beat but it doesn't sound too dated either.

nah, that's not even best track Jada spit on

Damn. What the BEST track jada rapped on? You mean as a guest or on his own shyt? or LOX?

Some of my favorite early Jadakiss guest verses would be Blackout, John Blaze, N--z Done Started Somethin, Last Day, and 24 Hours to Live.

For the fukk of it if I ranked both groups it may go

Prodigy
Kiss
Havoc
SP
Sheek

I'm trying to slight SP as he prolly makes better songs than Kiss but I had to put Havoc above him based on the classics he's dropped.

Also, I was thinking of you take Prodigy off the Mobb's second to fourth albums, they would be above average but with P they are all timers. You take Kiss off the LOX the decline isn't as much.

I'd put Styles above Hav but I see where you're coming from. Also, those albums wouldn't nearly be as good without P on them. I also disagree about the LOX because Kiss is the best member to me. If anything, there'd be no decline without Sheek lol.

IMO post MurdaMuzik/HNIC era Prodigy does have some dope verses. But he's been real hit or miss. So much of it depends on production. That's why HNIC 3 was so trash, but Return of the Mac and Albert Einstein were both good. I thought that Bump Johnson EP sounded extra lazy, and I thought he'd sound more hungry after getting out of jail.

I thought P sounded way more energized on Albert Einstein than usual. P's story telling on Confessions is as good as ever. That new Mobb song Biology is maybe P's best verse since the late 90's. That's what makes it frustrating. You never know what you're gonna get. You might get some IMDKV shyt, or Waterboarding, or you might get something more lazy and generic like Stay Dope.

Kiss would probably body him on a song, yeah. But my thing is, where is Kiss' dope solo music in the past 10 years? Prodigy at least has return of the Mac, Albert Einstein, and a dope album's worth of songs between HNIC 2 and Product of the 80's.

The Last Kiss had some bangers on it. But it was 2009. Jada hasn't had 1 solo project since then. Emcee for emcee since 2000, I'll concede that. Jadakiss is the better rapper, bar for bar. But where's the music at? Especially in the last 10 years? I do like Jadakiss' verses on the new LOX mixtapes. He's good on those. He definitely hasn't lost a step.

I think it's this simple. They're both one dimensional. Which is fine. Kiss is a better rapper since 2000/2001, but Prodigy has made better albums and songs since then.

He actually put out a terrible CD called 'I Love You
Jadakiss_I_Love_You_a_Dedication_To_My_Fans-front-large.jpg
' that i foolishly bought. It's awful.

No1 in 36 mafia could rap period

lord infamous was dope.

whats that song coming on at the end?

:lupe:

One is known for their music. The other is known cause of the crews he was under

when u say LOX, the 1st squad niccas think of is dblock.

I'm a fan of his first solo but his claim to fame is being the water boy for bad boy and ruff ryders

jada's 1st solo was his weakest.

ur a commercial head.

I'd say that Kiss and P are better than Styles. Jada was always the best one in the LOX to me. Styles is more like P, though. They both rap about the gritty, street shyt.

jada is the better rapper but styles is the better artist.

it looks like thats the deciding factor in this thread. thats why i think styles would be a better matchup against prodigy.

i still voted kiss tho, cuz prodigy's prime was in a duo where he ultimately did less of the work than havoc but gets all the credit. i doubt that the infamous would be anywhere near as good if it was a prodigy solo.

I avoided this thread for a while bcus they're both 2 of my all time favorites but I gotta go with Prodigy...he was part of 3 classic back to back albums (The Infamous, Hell On Earth, Murda Muzik). HNIC is a borderline classic too.

I agree that Styles vs prodigy would be a better poll. Styles is definitely a more interesting artist and has some more depth. He may not rap as slick, but he's my favorite in the LOX.

I might have to listen to jada's first 2 albums again. Earlier I said the 1st was his best, but I think the 2nd might be the better album, but the best songs on the first are better than the best songs on the 2nd...if that makes sense?

introspective joints....Feel Me > Still Feel Me (but not by much)
LOX joints...None of Ya'll Better > Welcome to D Block
anthems...We Gonna Make It > Time's Up

By Your Side was fire. Shoot Outs was fire. Even the joints I named above, I like all of those. Still Feel Me is great. Why is classic. I dunno man, even some of the commercial joints were cool. I like Put Your hands Up and even Knock Yourself Out.

fukk it, I think Jada's first 2 albums are just about equal. They're both 3.5 mic albums that could've been more but are held back by Jadakiss or his A&Rs thinking he had to please everyone.

yeah man. I mean Infamous is just untouchable. Survival of the Fittest, Eye For An Eye, Shook One Pt. II, Drink Away The Pain, Temp Rising, Right Back At You...there's just too many timeless songs on there. They were so fukking young too when they made that.

Even the damn skit after Start of Your Ending is classic.

Outta all those classic songs you mention, only one makes my top 5 from Infamous:krs:

Altho HOE was a groundbreaking classic that was so unique and unparalleled as an album, its miles behind Infamous imo. And thats no knock on HOE, Infamous is just perfection. Easily the best album ever made song for song.

As far as Pee Vs. Jada, lol.
