It's the same thing with Europe breh. The talent and resources gap between the European leagues dwarf those of the other continents.

In fact I'd say it's greater. Because I wouldn't be surprised if the resource gap between a top tier European soccer club and a top tier South American soccer club is far greater than a European Basketball team and an NBA Basketball team

I am, admittedly a new one. This was my second season following the Premier League extremely closely and I am a quick study. I am not an expert at all though, so correct me wherever I may have it wrong. But the fact that you're comparing the NBA to EUROPE when it comes to soccer is all we need to point out to end this discussion. If all the top talent and resources in the world didn't go to the top 4 or 5 leagues in EUROPE and instead went to La Liga or the Premier League, to the point that the second-best league in the entire world was of the level of the MLS, I feel like Soccer fans would understand my argument a lot more. They would also understand how ridiculous it is for American soccer fans to constantly insist that the best team in the best and singular European league would need to beat the likes of the Columbus Crew in order to claim that title. It's a farce.

The other hang up is that soccer is such a vast and popular sport that it would be impossible to filter all the best talent into just one league. Hence the need and interest in a club world tournament. But for argument's sake, just imagine it....

Within the competition of nations. Every 4 years. USA is about to be World Champs.

There's no competition YEARLY for the current leagues. But it is likely the NBA champ would win that.

Lyles can only be crowned competing in “national team” settings - he doesn’t have a club option. This is like saying the WBC boxing champ isn’t the world champ because he didn’t go the Olympics if he was eligible.
