Who would you say has the highest ceiling between: Montez Ford, Ricky Starks, & Carmelo Hayes?

Being realistic I think Ford has the most all around potential

He has size and has bulked up
Great finisher and good in the ring
Babyface and has a nice background story and is solid on the mic

However, I’m a Starks fan :yeshrug: that boy has IT. Triple H would push him accordingly

No one said anything about highest potential to be a crossover star. This is wrestling, not Hollywood.

Umm…Highest ceiling is the question, and being a crossover star is the highest ceiling for a pro wrestler..

If by ceiling you guys mean who will win more titles or something, we can have a different conversation..

But, like I said, I believe Tez and Melo have a higher ceiling specifically because their employer allows for it. Their reach will be bigger specifically based on WWE branding. It is what it is.

In AEW Ricky’s ceiling isn’t very high because AEW doesn’t allow for it. They’re only viewed by what, 850k households per week?

It’s like asking who has a higher ceiling between a guy averaging 24 and 8 in the G league, and a guy averaging 12 and 3 for the Celtics.. respectfully

Which is why I said Tez and Melo have a head start. And that’s no disrespect to AEW, it just is what it is

There is a difference between allowing and being capable. No one in AEW is really stopping someone from doing stuff outside of AEW unless it's conflicting with their AEW commitments. WWE on the other hand is more more restrictive of what they allow their wrestlers to do outside the ring.

Montez Ford. Ricky Starks doesn't actually have IT. Montez might. His ceiling is higher than Starks and he's better already. I don't know the other guy.

I mean, I get what you’re saying.. I just think we’re having totally different conversations.

To me, peak wrestling stardom is what guys like Austin, Taker, The Rock, Cena etc. have achieved

And I genuinely don’t think that’s achievable anywhere outside of WWE, for better or for worse. Starks can be pushed to the moon in AEW, what would that really do to raise his profile outside of that small pond?

I hate to even talk like this because It sounds like I’m shytting on AEW and I’m not..

I think Starks is more talented than both Tez and Melo.. I just think Tez has one thing Ricky will never have as long as he’s in AEW, and that’s the machine behind him. If WWE pushes Tez to the moon, he’s out of here. If AEW pushes Starks to the moon, he… wins some titles..

It’s levels. I respect your take tho and I see what you’re saying..

If we're going to call Undertaker a crossover star because he did a few voice roles in children's cartoons and appeared as a bit guest on a couple TV episodes then the bar is so low to become a crossover star that it's hardly an accomplishment to do anything outside of WWE.

Man seriously only has three acting credits to his name where he didn't appear in character - Hutch in some 1991 movie called Suburban Commando that only made 8 million at the box office with Hogan being the star, and and played "Soul Chaser Demon" in 2 episodes of Poltergeist: The Legacy., a show which had 88 episodes.

Macho Man's fukking Slim Jim commercials are more notable than anything Undertaker has done outside of wrestling.

City of Angels :blessed:
Starks' mic work and charisma trumps what Melo might have on him in-ring or what Tez might have height-wise. The height isn't any kind of big advantage for Tez IMO -- what matters more looks wise for a wrestler is whether or not you are built/in-shape. Starks with his body (:dame:) could walk into WWE today and not look out of place.

And Montez Ford is only listed at 6'1", Ricky Starks is listed at 6'0". The height difference is irrelevant, it's one fukking inch. People on here acting like Montez is as big as an NBA small forward or some shyt.

Taker can show up to any venue in the world and immediately be recognized by any crowd. He can show up at the BET awards or a fukkin MLB game and the majority of muhfukkas gon know who he is

Same with Jeff Hardy and a buncha other guys

To me, again, that’s peak wrestling stardom. Dudes aren’t getting to that level without the WWE rocket.

Kenny Omega could walk through Disneyland on a packed day literally wearing a “I wrestle for AEW shirt” and nobody will know who this nikka is. He’s a star… in AEW… but in the grand scheme he’s nobody. Their platform just isn’t enough

And all those guys made their name in the Attitude Era back when wrestling was still in the main stream of pop culture.

Name post Attitude Era wrestlers that fit that mold. Cena, Batista. Maybe Sasha Banks? That's about it.
