No one. You'd need someone strong as an ox but with the speed and defensive ability to keep up with him. The only 2 players in league history I could see having a shot are prime Wilt and prime David Robinson. And even for Robinson, who I think is one of the GOAT defensive players, that was a scary matchup.

It would be less about trying to stop him on offense, but running his ass into the ground in PnR actions at the end of the floor until he no longer had the energy to be that superhero version of himself.

He won’t be the same if he constantly has to defend guards on switches above the arc.

Along with a diversification of defensive bigs to throw at him; a mixture of different heights and sizes to throw him out of rhythm.
So who. Because this is about stopping him on offense...

That's what I believe is the best method of stopping him.

If you get into a game where you're trading buckets on the block, Shaq's team is going to win more often than not. He's arguably the most effective 2-point scorer we've ever seen, so if you make it your objective to try to stop that, then you're playing into his hands. Not even MJ is coming down the other end and matching that.

That's why tiring him out so he doesn't have the energy to put a hole in your chest on every other offensive possession, and making sure you have a steady diet of 3s at the other end is how you'd beat him.

If you want to be literal and ask the question of which player I'd pick - I'll be clutching them rosary beads.

From 1994-95 to 2003-04 he saw the defensive player of the year in the finals 3 different times as his head to head matchup and his worst series against that matchup was 27/11 on 63% shooting :deadrose:
