- Al Pacino was offered a role in a Christopher Nolan movie, but turned it down. I think it might have been Gordon or Falcone in Batman Begins.
- Spike Lee wanted Robert De Niro to be Sal in Do the Right Thing, but he turned it down.
- Denzel Washington turned down the role of Detective Mills in Se7en
- Tom Hardy dropped out of Suicide Squad (good call)

The year 3030
Eddie Murphy was offered Winston in Ghostbusters, but turned down the role after the part was reduced to basically a supporting character

building off this, animated director turned down ernie hudson to do his own character's voice in the 80/90's cartoon :gucci:

An example of how a movie can change direction with casting
Beverly Hills Cop was originally a straight up action movie intended for Sylvester Stallone, but once he turned the role it was offered to Eddie Murphy. Hence the movie becoming more of a comedy

TV Legends Revealed: Ernie Hudson Lost Ghostbusters Cartoon Role?

Yeah, I did, and it was funny, ’cause they said, “You don’t have to audition for the part, but the director wants to hear you read the material.” So I went in to read the material, and the guy said, “No, no, no, that’s all wrong! When Ernie Hudson did it in the movie...” And I’m like, “Well, wait a minute: I am Ernie Hudson!”

John C Reilly was almost cast as McNulty on The Wire

Michael Keaton was going to play Jack in Lost. This is when Jack was supposed to die in the pilot. When Michael found out they were keeping Jack alive he dropped out of the project.

:mjlol: willis would've been terrible as alonzo...he was phoning it in by 2001

Sam L would've been dope...kinda think it'd be similar to his shaft role

think Sinese would've been ok
Training Day would’ve been B movie status if any one of the guys would’ve been cast
Denzel added layers to the Alonzo character he deserved the Oscar
