Who was the worse pick between Mitch Trubisky and Trey Lance?

What would be the equivalent of both these moves in the NBA?

Passing up on a franchise or generational talent for a player who might’ve had small success, but it ultimately set your franchise back and you eventually move on from said player

Reaching high for a player with potential, and while it doesn’t affect the success of your team, you end up moving on from that player after a few seasons

I think Darko probably fits the Trey mode the best, but not sure who would be the Mitch equivalent

I guess if the question is worst pick at the time with players still on the board than it would be Mitch.
But value wise, I'm not sure how Trey who only start 4 games is not easily the worst pick than Mitch that at least had two playoff seasons as QB and a pro bowl to show with his team. You literally gave up more to get that player and have basically nothing to show for that player's contribution to the team in comparison to the other.
