He's only contracted for one more movie, which I would bet money comes out in 2 years. Unless they renegotiate that deal, the next movie he shows up in will be a spider-man movie.

Well see. I thought the same back when we were knee deep in the RDJ contract saga but he kept showing up in stuff and was in movie after movie. They are trying to make Holland/Spider-Man the main event so I have no doubts that hell be in more than one more movie.

It's a different thing than Robert because of the co ownership with Sony. So Sony would have to be decide whether they want to continue it after the third movie (they should) and go from there. That's why it's not a perfect comparison

Thats a decent point. Well see. It would be silly to have them hype up Tom/Spider-Man to be the next big thing and have him fall off the map tho. I imagine they will throw as much money as necessary to prevent that.

Imagine Phase 4 having to be carried by a black Captain America instead tho :wow:

Yeah he's clearly being set up to carry the mantle. And if the rumor of them wanting to do 9 movies with him, then yeah Sony/Amy Pascal will have to commit to the plan. And they have no reason to not do it at this point. Black cap is cool but I'm a spider-man till I'm no longer breathing, so I want him in everything

Kraven is good onto his own in the comics, but...and it's been awhile since I've read anything in the comics, but I don't think his menace "alone" translates well to the movie screen.
Kraven hunting Spider-Man is more than enough to fill a movie.

I feel that. But these movies all operate on a cause and effect. The avengers happened (cause) vulture was the effect. Tony’s actions caused Mysterio. So now that peter is a wanted criminal and his ID is out to the world, what’s the effect? Kingpin has no need to go after him because he hasn’t messed with anything kingpin has done. He’s spent most of his time dealing with big time threats: Thanos, the civil war, Mysterio. Vulture is the only thing he did in New York. Kingpin is the type to only get involved with you when you involve yourself with him. He doesn’t draw attention to himself.
They could always go with the original comic story that Jameson is directing a lot if the Bugle's attention on Kingpin's criminal enterprises so Kingpin puts a hit on him and Spider-Man intervenes.

They could but this Jameson is more Alex Jones than a crusader for justice like the old Jameson. DailyBugle in this universe is a "controversial" website so I don't see him having that same pull for justice and wiping out the criminals in New York

And the bolded is why I don't think him alone would be great "alone"... "in this universe". There was always some tie to the Avengers/Chitauri or Tony Stark and Iron-Man with this crop of villains to add to the scale of the threat.

By no means am I saying he can't be a great villain, I'm saying I don't think he would be the draw to casual fans/movie goers. I mean it's spider-man so it's going to make doe...but in this MCU, they either villains to other movies, or they team them up to add to scale.

  1. Vulture/Chitauri/Avengers 1 (story arc)
  2. Mysterio/Tony Stark/Ironman (story arc)
  3. Whiplash/Justin Hammer (team up)
  4. Mandarin/Killian (team up)
  5. Hela/Surtur (team up)
  6. winter soldier/Pierce/crossbones (team up)
  7. Ultron/Quicksilver/Scarlet Witch (team up)
  8. Killmonger/Klaue (team up and story arc)

You can literally do this for every MCU movie. I just don't see Kraven being alone.

If Kraven was the Killmonger to Kingpin or JJJ's Klaue, then perhaps I could see it.
No one knew anything about Vulture's or Mysterio's ties to the greater MCU going into those 2 movies so its not like that was a draw for moviegoers.

True. They could do an Aunt May community organizing to stop some gentrifying shyt in the neighborhood that is part of a Kingpin scheme and that makes her a target so Peter has to go after Kingpin.

Hopefully, Mysterio is still alive and the ending was just an illusion so he can return and join Sinister 6. Bring in Tombstone, Silvermane, Aliester Smythe, Kingpin, Chameleon, Jonah Jameson, Robbie and make this one like a corporate conspiracy with Peter Parker uncovering Kingpins plot to run for mayor while graduating high school.

By the 4th installment, he works part time for the daily bugle while in college and befriends Harry Osbourne while Norman Osbourne uses iron man tech to develop his green goblin costume and deceive the world with the dark avengers and the iron patriot.

You really think peter would work for this daily bugle?

Kraven is enough by himself. If vulture and Mysterio are enough he can be. He’s an intimidating presence. Especially for a 17 year old. As we’ve seen, it’s all about execution.

A lot of you guys are saying kingpin but my question is always “why?” Not why kingpin l, but why does kingpin want beef with Spider-Man in this universe? What has Spider-Man done to shake his tree?
Once they finally give Spiderman a movie in New York, he'll inevitably interrupt Kingpin's business.
Then, it will be on and poppin'!

Did you read my posts at all?

I said that either villains teamed up, or they were successors to previous stories. Hence why I listed all the villains and put them in parentheses.

Vulture and Mysterio had ties to previous stories.

Kraven would be a great villain, but the way this universe likes to set up villains is either to team them up...OR to tie them to previous external stories.

If Kraven is tied to a previous external story, and partnered with a JJJ or a Kingpin he could work.

I really think you're misunderstanding me. I'm not saying Kraven would be a bad villain...he's my pick for the next villain. I'm saying he won't be alone.

Kraven just coming out of no where hunting Spiderman would not get greenlit in this universe.
