The OG jago and Orchid were dark skinned and had black features. They made them both more white/asian and light skin in the later games. Maybe they were never black in the story but their design was black. Black enough for them to go super hard to redesign them to look white. This was Orchid

Then they made her white-

Yeah I thought Orchid looked Like Janet Jackson when I was a kid.. never thought she was anything but black until the reboot
