not even close...its the only reason he in the league. He is having the worst 3pt shooting in NBA history. He is bad on offense

Yes it's him

But he's really bad offensively right now

the ether
Eric Bledsoe isn't the best, but he was one of the better ones before he got hurt. Even if he dropped off a bit when he started doing more on offense.

Rubio is one of the best without a doubt. As a team they're too young to be consistent defensively for 82 games (or most of the time, 48 minutes) though.

Curry guards the weakest link on the other offense:what:

And you also can't knock other guys down for their team being good defensively but give Curry a bump when his defensive stats are good specifically cause his teammates are great defenders:dahell:

Who did I say that about? Only Tony Parker and kind of Dragic.
Dragic I included next to curry as one of the best.

The difference between Parker and Curry is the Warriors defensive scheme is predicated on switchin a lot of initial actions of the opposing team, thereby forcing the opposing team into trying to score through isolations.
Curry has defended 119 isolations this year. That's more than any other PG and 5th highest in the entire league. Yet he only allows .66 points per possession on his isolations which is 8th among players who have defended at least 60 isolations this year.

The spurs scheme has a lot of help D but not as much switching. They do a great job of communicating and tagging. Which allows Parker to be in great position to recover and defend his man.
Not to mention they have one of the best coaching staffs in the league and are always prepared as far as scouting.
For comparison, Parker has defended just 43 isolations and has allowed .98 points per possession. Which is pretty bad, although that is a small sample size.

How about you explain how he is the best defender in the league at his position. :usure:

I don't know if he is the best. Smart, Joseph, maybe even Livingston are all better but here is a breakdown of his defense and why it's elite

Btw, he played excellent all around D last night

The reason I actually made this thread is because I was trying to do all defensive teams this year and there was a lot of great candidates at every position. From Kawhi and Draymond to guys like Seflosha and Biyombo. But when it came to PG I started searching and Curry looked like one of the best candidates. I knew that would stir up controversy so I decided to make this thread to see who people would say are good candidates.

Yeah I don't know if Curry's an elite defender, but when I think about all the PGs who are better defenders than him - the list is extremely short.

Yeah, pretty much. Point guards aren't supposed to be elite defenders and it's rare that a PG is good enough on that end to actually make a huge impact. BUT if you look at PGs, among them who are the best defenders? Curry has to be up there.

It's almost like Value over replacement.
Sure Curry won't make as much a difference defensively as Hassan Whiteside or Paul George but if you have to choose between him and other PGs, who do you take?

I already explained the diff between the two a few posts above. If you don't understand organized basketball and are a sheep who just follows groupthink commentary, it's not my prob
