there were stretches of time where I forgot Jamison even existed. I at least always knew of Vince's whereabouts.

Vince Carter had more "impact" overall because of his entertainment factor and popularity. Vince hit higher highs as well, but I feel like Jamison was more consistent over his career. Carter led better teams early on but it's not like he actually led them anywhere. I always wonder though how much the course of basketball history would have changed had Vince hit that jumper against the Sixers in Game 7 back in '01... Iverson wouldn't be looked at in the same way, nor would Carter.

Vince has a pretty decent chance to make the HOF though... but hell, knowing the Basketball HOF, Antawn has an outside (waaayyy outside, but still) shot as well.

And, yes, I'm talking about both of them as though their careers are over because, let's face it, their careers ARE over.

Vince has a decent shot, and deservedly so; Not first ballot, but he could get in eventually. Antwan on the other hand will be forgotten about soon after he retires and has never had a meaningful impact in nba games nor on the culture of basketball, he has no shot.

Even though it's relatively "easier" to make the basketball hall of fame than other hof's, to even make it you still either have to had been an elite player at some point with some sort of sustained impact in the league, have a nasty college career, or be some sort of special case who left an extraordinary impact on the game (Yao Ming will probably go in for being an ambassador for China and exposing the game of basketball to the Chinese on a large scale, along with actually being a good player).

The Basketball Hall of Fame has never been easy enough for an Antwan Jamison type player to get into, and I don't foresee that happening any time soon.

Both are overrated players, but this is Vince Carter without question. Vince at one point was actually top 10 in the league and made the all-NBA team twice.

Vince had a much higher peak and was more impactful at his peak. He was right there with Kobe and T-Mac for a time. Tawn never reached such heights. He's just been a consistently good player who can put points on the board but has never really helped a team win.
Maybe from 98 to early 2000 he was there with pre-superstar Kobe, but that's where it ended.
Vince made EIGHT straight all-star games...to do that, you're an elite player.
Because of how popular he was back then. He was injured half of the time he was making the all-star teams. Grant Hill made the all-star team in 2001 and he only played 4 games for that entire year. Yao made the all-star team in 2011 and he only played in 5 games that year.

The All-NBA teams are a better indicator of how a good a player was and Vince only made it twice. Vince wasn't an 8 time all-star player good. Not even close.

Vince definetly...and popularity does factor into this. Cause Jamison's one of the most forgettable 20/10 guys I can remember. Mostly played on garbage teams so his numbers never had much impact. Hell his whole career's been forgettable. At least Vince is gonna be remembered for his highlights and he did have some slight postseason success

Antawn was never "elite." Plus Vince single-handedly carried two teams -- one Nets team and one Raps team -- to the playoffs.

:what::rudy:

Kidd carried the Nets to 2 Finals. Nets w/Vince didn't make it past the 2nd round... in fact I don't think he's ever made it past the 2nd round.
