I was discussing this last night.

Teammates at UNC.

Went back to back in the draft.

Traded for each other straight up (with cash) on draft night.

Both have had their moments, but who has had the better career?

I'd say its a wash honestly... they've both been in the postseason multiple times with no rings... both are career 20 PPG scorers... VC had the flare though and was put in the same breath as Kobe for some years. VC fell off something serious though... Jamison is still kind of the same dude... he has an unorthodox game in the paint with all the flip shots and things like that

Interesting points. It seemed like early on it was easily Vince but dude did fall off. Maenwhile Jamison, while never spectacular has remained steady to sort of even things out. I can't really call it.

Vince made EIGHT straight all-star games...to do that, you're an elite player.

Antawn was never "elite." Plus Vince single-handedly carried two teams -- one Nets team and one Raps team -- to the playoffs.

THIS is true but I feel like Antawn has been more consistent in his production into his older age

Vince underachieved while Jamison kind of overachieved

The D (where it's so cold)
They both averaged right around the same thing except Vince did it in more meaning ful games plus VC has the Olympic gold from 2000 plus his 2000 dunk contest is one of the greatest performances. Not really a career accolade it does show that Vince was the better athlete and player.

Hell, I didn't even know Jamison has over 20,000 points. He has to be the most forgettable 20k scorer in league history.

Vince had a much higher peak and was more impactful at his peak. He was right there with Kobe and T-Mac for a time. Tawn never reached such heights. He's just been a consistently good player who can put points on the board but has never really helped a team win.

Wow was it 8 straight?

Vince had the higher peak, that's not debatable. But Antawn every year has been a model of consistency. 20 and 8 for 14 years ain't bad.

Nah, that dunk contest performance counts as a career accolade. :obama:

It ain't great either and Vince had great years mixed in with his not bad years. If Tawn had consistent at higher level then we can have a discussion.

I'm gonna say its a wash.

Antawn was on a really bad golden state team in the beginning but he played well.

Vince however made a borderline mediocre Toronto team competitive. Were most of Vince's all star appearances fan votes? That could explain 8 straight.

He had flashes of electrifying play which got him mentioned with T Mac and Bean, but truth be told, he never had game like them.

Antawn did beast with Washington a couple of years too now that I thnk about it. They about the same to me as far as basketball talent is concerned although Vince was a hell of a lot funner to watch
