Where the John Coltrane movie breh? :feedme:

There's no full on biopic yet but Ken Burns' Jazz doc covers most of his era and there's years of interviews and live footage of him jammin with Mingus, Bird, and Miles ...I heard for Mo' Better that Spike was callin it "A Love Supreme" but Trane's wife Alice didn't dig it too much sayin there was too much profanity

Christopher Williams

they already did a "life after" on Christopher Williams. I bet he wishes he didn't get the call from tv-one so soon, cuz nowadays they would've gave him an unsung.:skip:

I came across a brick CD in my pop's collection earlier.

it seem like theyre moving away from the pre-90s stuff, unfortunately. and that's a terrible mistake because theyre pushing away their main fanbase.

Don't know if he was mentioned, but jahiem. Dude had/has the voice of a god, but I feel his lack of looks stumped his career during his heyday and of course the fall of r&b hasn't helped
I could've swore the ladies was into him. Super pause but he got some type of appeal. He pretty much invented modern thug rnb as far as I'm concerned. I believe he's been plagued by sexuality questions and I have a pretty reliable source that says they're founded.

I think women like his music but could take or leave him, if he looked like tyrese or tank he'd be bigger

ehh. Jaheim had a better r&b career than both of em.

or are you saying that he would've been even bigger than he is, if he looked like them?

I didn't know chicks had a problem with his looks anyway. i mean, aside from the fact that he looks like he had a rotation of boys to run thru when he was in prison. but hey, that's just prison-gay. i thought you ladies liked that.

yea hes unsung but I don't think he underachieved.

hes had, and is still having a great career.

never made "numbers music" but still sold millions making adult music, while having too much of an edge to his aura to be boxed in with the adult crowd. gotta respect that. I still remember when he tied r.kelly for the BET r&b artist of the year in 2003, during r.kelly's chocolate factory run........but for whatever reason, he wasn't there to receive the award. I'm sure he kicked himself over that.

interesting.

are they unsung tho?

i know with black people, theyre about goat status. but did they lack the crossover? cuz theyre always on the throwback stations and always get their stuff sampled, but ive never seen a documentary on them ever.

Me neither

They're a well respected group in the black community but I've never saw anything on TV about their lifestyles on the road or just life in general.

I'd like to see one on Big L ...posthumously he had a huge impact on a lot of rappers' styles despite never being that popular when he was alive

bigger is he were sexy...dude did have a decent career off good music, but i personally feel if he were sex symbol status he'd be more in the vein of maxwell (not the same sub-type of r&b, but so engrained in the hearts of women that he'd be able to tour or drop every 7 years with folks going crazy)
