Kamala Harris/Sherrod Brown. Here me out, as terrible as Kamala's popularity is right now, I think booting out the first female African-American VP will be seen as a slap to the face of many black voters. :yeshrug: I also think she would win a Democratic primary if Biden decides not to run. BUT, she needs to be paired with a progressive white dude who can also appeal to working class white people. Sherrod fits that perfectly. Remember, this is about turning out the base. The only downside is that they will likely lose an Ohio Senate seat, but I don't see any better choices.

i don't think so, people rep her on GP, they understand what she is symbolically, but i haven't seen or experienced a widespread actual love or affinity for her. michelle obama, and of course barry, has beyonce/rihanna type hysterical fandom from black people, especially black women. kamala is more of a "let's clap for ashanti booking a gig on the today show" type fandom :russ:

Honestly, I'd take Pressley over Kamala any day and in some respects, she fills the symbolic aspects Kamala brings and is a lot better on policy. That and I can see accusations of extra-marital action between Brown and Harris if only because they joke around each other too much. There's nothing really but the little out there will be blown up by the repubs.

Until Trump says he's not running, I believe he is running. Biden has no choice but to run. Trump would beat anyone else.

It's not 2020 anymore. At this point Biden's chances against Trump aren't better than anyone else, maybe worse.

Dems would be better off with someone with less baggage. I say just see who polls well in 2023 and run them. :yeshrug:

You sure do participate in political threads a lot for somebody who hates the idea of actually voting or being involved in politics. :unimpressed:

If I didn't vote or care about poltiics I wouldn't even think I'd care to participate in these types of threads.

People were scared Trump would get re-elected (which he almost did) so Biden was just the "safe" pick (being a moderate older white guy) and nothing more. Nobody was really trying to take a risk in 2020.

But at this point Biden's presidency has been basically ruined by Manchin and Sinema, not to mention inflation/gas prices, so he's a liability even if it's not really his fault. Not to mention he's old, so hopefully he just doesn't run again.

I don't think it's fair to blame the entire Dem party for Manchinema though. That said they really need someone better than Schumer to vet candidates.
that's an argument for not electing democrats period, because those 2 are going to still be around past '24 too. if manchen isn't there his seat will be won by a republican anyway so they will be dealing with either a fake majority or minority status.

I'm not sure how it's an argument for that unless you think having another Trump presidency is a good thing in some way.

If Republicans control the House/Senate then at least a Democratic president would have veto power. Not great but better than a GOP trifecta.
