STRONGER was the turning point to total destruction no doubt about it. I initially supported that trash for being 'different' but I now see the folly in my ways.

:ohlawd:

Before that- we had mosquito bites towards the downfall but that shyt open the floodgates.

I don't believe hip-hop is dead but I think the issue you are referring to is what happened to the mainstream marketing of it. It wasn't any one person or area. It was commercialization with the white man. Let the Jews get their hands on the product and water it down for suburban America.

Well first of all we all have definitions of what "destroyed" is? to some is the lyrics, some is the image, some the production (mostly purists)

if we want to get technical in an overall fashion..i think it was DIDDY.

This album is 90% of the reason why all of the dudes whine so much about "softness" and crossovers.

Always thought the "HHID" movement was corny though.

when NY lost the crown and the south took over... it was all over for me from that point

gay rappers emerged

kanye whining over every female thatr dumped him over shytty beats that everyone praises

skinny jeans, mohawks, wallet chains, skateboarding, dudes wearing skirts and bright ass eart6h tone colors

hip hop used to be about urban struggle... now its about suburban success

dont know bout yall but hip hop cant never die.hate to sound lame but real talk **** evolves some for the best some for the worse.there's alot of music still out there thats hot either you dont check for it or just ignoring it.they pushing certain things in the media as hip hop for financial reasons and we all know that but its up to real hip hip fans to keep the good music in rotation by actually supporting and thats it. Im stuck in the 90's so hip hop will always be alive to me :manny:

Wayne had more influence on the youth IMO, but Kanye played a big part on why cats stopped being "Hip Hop" and turned straight Carlton Banks fashion wise. Make things worse, many of the older rappers that were of the old status quo started to lose influence on the youth and were :flabbynsick:
