Bridges consistency makes this a 50 win team.

He's not Kobe. But he's clearly a level above RJ.
4 first round picks aren't meant for his caliber of player. He doesn't make you a championship contender. One injury to jalen and we're lottery status. And believe they want OUR picks. Not no protected bullshyt from other teams we're trying to swing around the league.

the way I would swing it. Draft a back up PG, send them Fournier and the Knicks picks. Then hope the other teams picks convey so they can continue to draft.

It’s a all in move and that team would basically be the team for the the next 4 years.

Sure. And that's imo a second round team at best. I'm not risking my future on that, those late 2020 picks will hurt when they're ending up top 4.

I disagree because we still have IQ who is approaching best back up point in the league status. He held us down when Brunson was out and I feel he could do it for a prolonged stretch if that were to happen.

With Mikal we’d have high IQ players up and down the roster it’s a recipe for success and being the type of team that plays above its talent level and can plug and play.

4 is steep though for sure.

Nets would do it, if we come up off the picks.
No they wouldn't.

If the Nets contributed in any way towards making the Knicks a contender, they might as well not be in the city anymore.

4 firsts is a lot for Bridges, but y'all thought that was a lot for Mitchell. That player that you think puts you over the top ain't coming any time soon, so either punt your picks for future picks or tell Thibs to eat a dikk and develop the players that are coming.

Y'all are just hoping Embiid reaches a breaking point in Philly and it's not helping that the guy you'd wanna throw in any deal (Barrett) doesn't have the same shine he had before and the next couple of drafts are wing heavy.
Why would they give a fukk?

Now that they’re rebuilding their main focus will be accumulating draft capital.
They don't have control of their own picks for the next 4 years.

I agree with Zach but I dont like that the burden is only on Barrett.

Because he was a top three pick, is guaranteed to make $107,000,000 in the next four years and has made zero progression to his game. In all actuality, he's gotten worse and holding the team back the most. The expectations are going to be way higher than Grimes (late first round pick) and Toppin (a top ten pick blocked by Randle and his stubborn coach). Yall need to stop babying this scrub

The same reason they wouldn’t trade KD to NY. If Mikal looks like the last piece they aren’t going to help the Knicks. Same reason they sent Kyrie to the Mavs instead of the Lakers for two first round picks. shyt look at all the bullshyt the Nets have done to earn a rep in NY. You can’t deny they see the Knicks as rivals.

That is a lot for Mikal. I would assume the Knicks would just be sending over guys not in the rotation. shyt that is a lot for Mikal.
I’m sure it isn’t 4 unprotected firsts. Maybe even 2 firsts and 2 swaps. Same way OG’s was looking like 2 protected and 1 unprotected. Elite role players are just as important as superstars. The asking price for a superstar was at least 5-6 firsts, 4 of them unprotected and significant players. An elite role player like Mikal would just be the picks and salary. I’m sure if we were to include Obi or RJ we can decrease the pick count. But the market is the market. I was 100% willing to give up Obi, Fournier and 3 firsts before the rumored asking price even got floated.

I don't think the Nets do it and if they did they would want more. The Grizzlies already offered 4 picks, and probably a few rotation pieces. If the knicks wanted to do it I think it would be costly and basically their all in move. Especially if they were smart enough to limit the trade to Fournier and picks.

The crazy part is the knicks might do it. There are a few things Leon Rose loves CAA, Thibs, the 2004 Pistons, and Villanova’s championship teams.

RJ is ass. He doesn’t excel in anything. He’s a good kid, works hard, and wants to get better but he’s ass.
Yeah but he is a kid. A lot of great players weren't nearly as productive as he has been at his age.

I keep mentioning JR for a reason the talent was there but he was inconsistent. That’s why he excelled as a 6th man. Ideally if the knicks want to be a legit contender you put RJ in the same role and see if he can get the kinks out.

I also think asking him to produce with two other left handed ball dominant players is a issue. I don't think Hart could take his spot (though you never know with Thibs) but a Mikal could.
