The same thing can be said for Haliburton remember I said the Pacers have been one of the top crunch time teams and that has been largely in part to Haliburton. I think there is a nice gap between Brunson and Haliburton as playmakers and defenders. We love Brunson, and Brunson is definitely one of the best scorers at the position, but Haliburton is better. Our records are pretty much identical and Pacers were expected to be sellers and bottom feeders. 20/4/10 with 2 steals on a ridiculous 61% TS and some legit floor raising (although I think Pacers talent is underrated) is just too good to not make the game.

Jrue if he is going to get in would be getting the he’s so underrated pity selection.

Voters won’t factor this in but what Brunson is doing with our bad roster fit is more impressive. Pacers are a much more modern team than we are. Well spaced offense with plus shooters at multiple positions. All he’s got is Grimes and 3 nikkas who need to attack the rim to be most effective.

I def think it's fully up for debate. But it's the stuff that isn't quantifiable that makes the debate for me. If you take Haliburton off the Pacers or Brunson off the Knicks; I think both teams collapse. But I think the Knicks go full dumpster fire whereas the Pacers would have a bit more going for them. I wouldn't be mad at heads saying the opposite.

Also I think Brunson's game management is better than Haliburton's by a small, but legitimate margin. They're both high IQ guys. Hali's playmaking is superior. But in terms of controlling tempo and managing momentum, I give Brunson a slight edge. I rate Brunson as the better scorer too. Put him in isolation and i trust him to get the bucket moreso than Haliburton. The key to all that is I think there's a really good chance Haliburton overtakes Brunson at both within the next season or two. Hali's got ELITE potential with already excellent talent. Brunson is excellent, but he'd have to maintain his January production and efficiency to claim elite status. I don't think it's sustainable.
I think if you took Hali off the Pacers they'd had a fire sale and would be one of the worst teams in the league :manny:...

I don't see Tyrese surpassing Jalen as a half court scorer/isolation player. What Brunson does is just special his quickness and shiftiness, his handle, his floater game, his touch, his post game (the best ever I've seen from a PG), his footwork, his strength, his craftiness and creativity. The thing is Tyrese is no slouch either even if he doesn't match up as an isolation scorer, and has all these other things working for him like being a high volume rangy efficient three point shooter (elite pull-up and catch and shoot) and arguably the best playmaker this season league leader in assists (excellent ball mover, screen bender, transition igniter) and he is longer and more versatile on defense. In my opinion both are elite.

I wouldn't underrate our talent and Thibs ability to get the most out a roster. When Jalen was out I.Q. was filling in lovely. Indiana wasn't looked at as no modern team or a team that would be where they are. Mathurin wasn't expected to be this good in year 1. Hield and Turner were supposed to be traded. Nembhard, Nesmith these are young guys that have gelled extremely well with them.

Jalen and Tyrese should both be in its that bum Trae with his garbage brand of basketball that shouldn't make it.

This lame is trying to sneak his way back over here. :mjlol:

I'd welcome him back ..... But Mitch is playing well enough to think very hard about a decision like that.

With that said, I don't think the FO is even looking in his direction, but I'd much rather trade for Porzingis than a guy like Towns

Trying to score in the post against the wizards maybe a futile effort. Dealing with Porzingis and Gafford is ridiculous.

Their talent is way better than their record.
