Meh. He was being extra for no reason. Most of the backlash for his comment was deserved

I think Indy fans had every right to defend their guy. Everyone else throwing a tantrum over it needs to relax. Hali's one of my favorite young players to watch, I don't think he's a clear cut allstar and I'm not particularly pressed about it.

It was just weird cause it was ridiculously unprovoked. There was no reason for Wally to mention Hali at all. If you want to big up Brunson by all means because the man is legitimately the reason why this team is over .500 but no need to shyt talk anyone elses players.

I get that it's a fair debate, and an impossible sell for media types that only watch a team a few times a month because it's based on who they cover each night. But what Brunson does for the Knicks, particularly in the clutch is some shyt that box scores don't capture. My guess would be that whoever leads their team to the better record at the time of selections will get in over the other.

Jrue kinda does deserve an Allstar campaign. I couldn't even be mad at that. I just saw someone mention that he hasn't mad an all-star team since 2013 and that surprised me. Dude's consistently really good, but I think he's got that same "the more you watch them, the bigger you realize their impact is" thing going on.
The same thing can be said for Haliburton remember I said the Pacers have been one of the top crunch time teams and that has been largely in part to Haliburton. I think there is a nice gap between Brunson and Haliburton as playmakers and defenders. We love Brunson, and Brunson is definitely one of the best scorers at the position, but Haliburton is better overall. Our records are pretty much identical and Pacers were expected to be sellers and bottom feeders. 20/4/10 with 2 steals on a ridiculous 61% TS and some legit floor raising (although I think Pacers talent is underrated) is just too good to not make the game.

Jrue if he is going to get in would be getting the he’s so underrated pity selection.

Wally's a dikkhead. Anybody who bashes him is good in my books. We're in the hot take era. He said something stupid and got the negative attention that he wanted. It is what it is :manny:

I think Brunson deserves the nod over Hali too; Brunson is the more complete player of the two if you ask me.

I was an early advocate for Brunson, I thought he was nice last year but breh is a monster now, I never thought I'd say that about him. Brunson's b-ball IQ is off of the charts.

I don't see how Brunson is a more complete player. I'll give him the clear nod as an isolation scorer but Haliburton is clearly the better passer, help defender and defensively versatile of the two although his 1vs1 defense is overrated

Offensively I mean. Brunson is the better iso scorer, has better foot work and a better in-between game. Brunson can eat vs any defensive set, and I think it's easier for a team to gameplan against Hali and potentially take him out of the game than it is with Brunson

I def think it's fully up for debate. But it's the stuff that isn't quantifiable that makes the debate for me. If you take Haliburton off the Pacers or Brunson off the Knicks; I think both teams collapse. But I think the Knicks go full dumpster fire whereas the Pacers would have a bit more going for them. I wouldn't be mad at heads saying the opposite.

Also I think Brunson's game management is better than Haliburton's by a small, but legitimate margin. They're both high IQ guys. Hali's playmaking is superior. But in terms of controlling tempo and managing momentum, I give Brunson a slight edge. I rate Brunson as the better scorer too. Put him in isolation and i trust him to get the bucket moreso than Haliburton. The key to all that is I think there's a really good chance Haliburton overtakes Brunson at both within the next season or two. Hali's got ELITE potential with already excellent talent. Brunson is excellent, but he'd have to maintain his January production and efficiency to claim elite status. I don't think it's sustainable.

Halliburton publicly spurned the Knicks after the draft, is a player Knicks fans keep saying we should have drafted over Obi (I agree) and is in pretty direct competition with Brunson for an all star reserve spot. It’s not like he brought up a random ass player. We just played them.

All that happened in the offseason besides the all star selection. Whether you think Hali is an allstar or not there wasn't a reason to call him wannabe and all the extra shyt. It just put a random target of conversation on the Knicks back for no reason. Knicks get enough negative stigma in the media as it is:mjlol::mjlol:
