That McBride/IQ combo has put up nice defensive numbers in a way too small to be reliable sample. I wonder if Thibs got a message about the team defense (before the Cavs game, they were giving up the most points at home of any team). I didn't picture Rose actually getting benched.

Cam...I'd rather see them go with a 10-man rotation. But I guess I'll wait to see how this short rotation experiment works out. Maybe they'll throw in rest days for guys to get Cam and Sims some minutes. But I'm not holding my breath.

The tight rotation and starters playing OD minutes feels like Thibs falling back to his norms. If that's the case, I'd expect IQ to be alright on minutes but Deuce, Obi, and Hart are gonna be playing 10-15 minutes most nights.

Using Cam or IQ to dump Fournier is insane to me; Cam because of how much we invested into him, and IQ because of his stand alone value. There isn't even anyone that great who'll be available to sign next offseason(who'll realistically sign here that is):
Gary Trent Jr? Myles Turner? KP if he opts out? Christian Wood? Jerami Grant? They're the best realistic targets on that list I suppose. It might be better to just eat his Fournier's salary for another year. I just wish I could figure out what the FO's plan for the team is.

I’ve defended this front office and I’m perplexed by this. They tried to move Obi in the summer (Im going to believe Thibs is behind that), I understand the need to move Fournier (that’s easy), I’m assuming Thibs wants to keep the heavy 9 minute rotation so that explains Cam (which fukking sucks BTW) but I’m not understanding the heavy push to move Quickley.

By all accounts Quick is a Thibs favorite (you can see by the minutes) and he’s improved dramatically on defense from where he started. The only reason I could think the Knicks are going to move him is that he’s being unreasonable in contract extension talks.

I believe they took a similar stance with Barrett where Barrett camp wanted way more and they threatened to trade him.

That’s the only thing I got.

Lmao. Wasted a first round pick on a guy who was never guaranteed to play because the FO wasn't even on the same page as the coach.

Which brings me to something else I've been thinking about. A big reason why the Knicks is the worst team in the league at drafting is because the team doesn't even try to develop it's players; that shyt goes hand in hand with each other. Most teams understand that consistency and practical experience is the best way to help somebody develop, and KP and Barrett are the only young players who've gotten that treatment since the days of Gallinari and Wilson Chandler (and it's been wasted on RJ since he still sucks☠️).

Maybe Cam really ain't worth a damn, but he was set up for failure here, just like countless other players have been.

Wow that’s crazy, cam might be inconsistent, but he’s not bad enough to trade :gucci:
Especially when he's a better defender than RJ & showed way more consistency on that end of the floor this season. It makes no sense to trade him because who's gonna guard the bigger wings? I wouldn't doubt if Thibs pulled an Austin Rivers on him because he called out the lack of accountability for certain players when he's earned his time on the floor. And I like what JD & CP said last week when they emphasized that Cam should've built up enough equity with Thibs to where he can have an off night & it shouldn't have affected his play time. Cam has been solid for us this season defensively & given us offense at times
