Who are some actors you feel like Hollywood tried to force on us, but didn't make it?

I feel the same way about the chick that did Bridesmaids. Can't even remember her name. Not funny at all and given this huge push because she's supposed to be SO HILARIOUS

Kristen Wiig. Her hype train was insane leading up to and after Bridesmaids. She literally did nothing after it, not one notable movie. Only an indie movie with Bill Hader. Now she mostly works with Will Ferrell's team.

For all the hype she had leading up to Bridesmaids? Her career has left a lot to be desired. They lowkey replaced her with Amy Schumer in the eyes of the public. Bridesmaids came out in 2011 and ghostbusters plus her other films lined up are not coming out til 2016. That's a five year gap. I know she's done some voice work but they hyped up Bridesmaids like she was the second coming of Tina Fey/Amy Poehler and it didn't pan out.

And as far as what qualifies making it, I think OP meant who was shoved down our throats so you could tell there was a machine trying to make these people bigger than what they ended up being. (And that doesn't have to necessarily mean they're not successful. Just that they're not SUPERSTARS the way you might have thought at the beginning of their careers.)

Exactly. Which is why someone else like Ryan Reynolds can be on this list even tho he's been in some successful movies.

We'll see where Amy Schmer is when her next movie drops because she's definitely being giving that push. I swear you get in good with Judd Apatow and you will be giving a chance to make it

I feel like SNL gives people the opportunity to have that Hollywood push on their side, but for whatever reason it only is being given to the white cast members.

Cage was just a very likeable actor in the 90s. My favorite film of his however is Raising Arizona. He was great in that. Now he's just a running joke. Ever since the wicker man. Lol..but in the mid to late 90s he was huge.
