A Jamaican, a sudanese, a Gullah geechee descendant , and a black brit are all going to get the no-nikkas treatment in NYC, but they have nothing in common in Capetown, Kingston, or london

for me culture is things like traditional values, food, fashion,language folk tales etc. Thats not something i share with every black person just because we have the same skin color. I eat different food, speak a different language, and practice different religions as a black American, than a black dude from Kenya. We don't share a culture just because some Karen or Trevor cac is equally racist to us and can't tell the difference. People agreeing with him are low key saying we get our culture from cacs if thats the case.

We do,but we should be forgiven. We dont really know what having our own culture is. Due to the fact as African Americans weve spent our entire existence under the programming of the European. The rules,language,education,morals and ideologies in this country are based around the European. We do have somewhat of a subculture in America.

And you could say that about any immigrants that come here. Because their own cultures will be eroded away overtime as they assimilate. But at the end of the day,Chinese people can still look back to China and see their culture in a less diluted form.


As African Americans our culture was a product of amalgamation with the European from the jump. Its a culture that was born "stepped on".



This is why we will be leaving the country. And recreating our own culture from scratch without European input. Will likely only be keeping the English language.

Alterity, othering, the "self" and the "other" and all that... every identity is constructed to an extent in contrast to something else. Once you get to the bottom of every culture you may realize it was formed in opposition to someone else's culture. We don't exist in a vacum...
