In 2014, a bizarre and disturbing video surfaced online of 2 young children describing the abuse that they had suffered at the hands of a satanic paedophile ring led by their very own father. As well as sexual abuse, the children described how the cult would murder babies who had been drugged and couriered to them, drink their blood and dance with their skulls. The children named countless locations that these rituals would take place, including 7 schools, the local swimming pool, and even the McDonalds and Starbucks in their local area of Hampstead. Multiple people were also identified by their full names as being members of the cult.
Once questioned by police, the children admitted that they had been coerced by their mother, Ella Draper, and her boyfriend Abraham Christie, into making the video. Both children reported being hit by Christie if they did not comply, and tests confirmed that they had also ingested cannabis, which they had been fed by Christie in the form of a soup. Both Draper and Christie have fled the country, and the 2 children are currently in care.
7-year-old A.J. Hutton cries on the stand as he testifies against his own mother. A.J. lived with his half-sister Adrianna and their mother Amanda in a small town in Florida. On a hot summer’s day in 2007, tragedy struck when Adrianna drowned in the family pool. When Amanda called the emergency services and her daughter was pronounced dead, it was treated as a terrible accident. Until A.J. confessed that he had seen his mother hold Adrianna under the water.
Further investigation revealed a somewhat troubled relationship between Amanda and her daughter, who suffered from ADHD. Photographs from the scene of the crime show an unkempt, cluttered house which investigatora revealed smelled of urine. Despite there being 2 young children in the house, there was no trace of any toys. Her attorneys argued that Adrianna died accidentally while scooping bugs from the pool, but on the strength of A.J.’s testimony Amanda was convicted of murder, and will spend the rest of her natural life in prison. A.J. who has since been adopted, has not seen his mother since that fateful day in court.
After serving 8 years for robbery, kidnapping, and burglary, Rene Lima-Marin walked out of prison a new man. He married his ex-girlfriend, and became both a father and a step-father. He got a job, worked his way up, and began to adjust to life in the free world. The only problem was that he had accidentally been released 90 years too soon.
Having been a free man for 6 years, it took one call from the public defender’s office and one brief hearing, and Rene was back behind bars. Speaking to a documentary crew, Rene stated:
‘I take full responsibility for the dumb, ridiculous, stupid mistake that I made when I was 18 years old. But what is the purpose of prison? The purpose of prison is not only to punish the person for the crime they committed but also to rehabilitate them. That’s exactly what has happened with me. I’m done and I’ve shown that I’m not the person I was when I was 18 years old. I’m a completely different person. Everything they desire from a person when they have committed a crime has been accomplished in me.’ (x)
As it stands, Rene’s next chance at freedom will come in 2054.
On a hot summer’s day in Georgia, 2014, Justin Ross Harris took his 22-month-old son Cooper for breakfast, and then made his way to work. Tragically for Cooper, rather than drop him off at daycare, Harris left his son strapped in the car for 7 long hours. While the baby boy endured searing temperatures (that experts say could have reached over 120 degrees inside the car) his hard-working Dad spent his day sexting a number of teenage girls, and sending photos of his genitals. When Harris returned to his car, Cooper was dead, with the official cause of death ruled as hyperthermia. Despite insisting that he simply forgot to take Cooper to daycare, his recent google search of ‘child deaths inside vehicle and what temperature it needs to be for that to occur’ suggests otherwise. The trial is ongoing.
Justin Ross Harris was sentenced to life in prison with no parole in December 2016.
The Needham family were on holiday on the Greek island of Kos in 1991 when their 21-month-old son Ben disappeared. Left in the care of his grandparents, the little boy had been playing outside of their farmhouse when he went missing, and after searching the area themselves with no luck, the family notified police. There have been hundreds of alleged sightings in the following years, including instances where he is believed to have been found. In 1995 a private investigator discovered a blonde boy living with a family of gypsies, who claimed to have been abandoned and bought by them. 3 years later another boy was tested for DNA after a suspicious holidaymaker photographed a boy known as ‘the blonde one’ amongst his Greek friends. Even as recently as this year, a man was DNA tested after a neighbour suggested he looked like the age progression photo of Ben as an adult.
It has been theorised that Ben might have accidentally been buried among rubble at a nearby dumping sight, although extensive searches of the area have produced no trace of him. The Needhams believe that Ben is still alive, and police were granted an extra £700,000 funding to continue their investigation through to October of this year. Having now been missing for a quarter of a century, the disappearance of Ben Needham remains one of the most high profile missing person cases in the UK. Sadly, it seems increasingly likely that the mystery of his disappearance may never be solved.
Police are conducting a second excavation near the site of Ben’s disappearance following another search earlier this year. They are now working on the theory that Ben was accidentally run over by a construction worker, who dumped the young boy’s body along with some rubble a short distance from the farmhouse. The worker in question died of cancer in 2015.
August, 2009 - Marie Moore, 44, fatally shot her son and then killed herself at a shooting range in Casselberry, Florida.
The gun range’s security footage shows Mitchell Moore, 20, taking aim at a target in a booth when his mother walks up behind him and points a gun at the back of his head. In the next frame, the son is seen falling to the ground.
Mitchell died at the scene whereas Marie was still alive when the police arrived, but later died in hospital.
Marie’s motive for the muder-suicide was explained in her suicide note which says; “I had to save my son“ because “God made me a queen and I failed.” She mentions several times “I had to send my son to heaven and myself to Hell“ as well as signing the suicide note as “Failed Queen.”
The Paedophile Information Exchange, or PIE, was a group founded in the UK in 1974. The primary aim of the group’s formation was to abolish the age of consent, and thus decriminalize sex with children. In 1975, they even took their campaign to the Home Office, writing to the Criminal Law Revision Committee that not only are children capable of consenting to relationships with adults, but that is no evidence that sex with a child is actually harmful. Throughout the same letter, they describe relationships between paedophiles and children ‘tender and loving’, and claim to have many accounts where parents found their child’s relationship with an adult to be ‘beneficial’. With over 100 members, joining PIE was as straightforward as an application form with a £4 fee.
The group eventually disbanded in 1984, when 2 executive members were convicted of child porn offenses, and the group’s leader fled the UK while on bail (unsurprisingly, many of its members have since been arrested on similar charges). In 2014 it emerged that several grants from the Home Office had been handed over to PIE in the years proceeding their formation, totaling around £70,000 (£400,000 in today’s money). It’s hard to believe that such a vile organization could operate so openly just 40 years ago.
