The street harassment movement came out of a real issue. Things like this don't help it.

White men were intentionally edited out because street harassment is being painted as an issue tied to black and hispanic men terrorizing innocent, delciate woman walking down the streets of America. Namely innocent, delicate white women.

Street Harassment is simply modern phrase for something that was part and parcel of the Jim Crow era.....darkies are not allowed to acknowledge white women in a sexual fashion while in public. This is what got Emmet Till beaten, mutilated and killed.

If not combatted politically and socially, this will become law and will be used indiscriminately against black and brown men.....mostly black.

They should since there is actual harassment going on like one where after a lady tells a man no he still follows her and shyt.

Ive heard stories and such from various women.

That's why this is a true disservice to the actual cause.

Rather than make this a true gender issues, they made it a race issue and disguised it as a gender issue.

But honestly, I have no idea why black women would want a part of the modern day feminist movement.

Although it's completely understandable and absolutely neccessary as a movement to help to make sure the rights of women are acknowledged and protected, it saddens me that they aren't hip to the game that it is yet another pro-white agenda.

When Beyonce is decried as an individual who shouldn't be represented as a voice for feminism by white feminists but a white male who simply puts on a t-shirt with a pro-feminist slogan is heralded as a hero for feminism...that's all you need to know about what it's really about.

White feminists would rather champion the rights of white gays, bisexuals, transsexuals, cis-genders, gender neutral persons, and other "POCs" (I hate that term for many reasons), before the rights of black people.

They were maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad silent when Mike Brown got killed and protesters were getting tear gassed in Ferguson by cops. Maybe a retweet/reblog or two out of liberal white guilt, but other than that, their silence pretty much sums up how they feel about the plight of black people. From what I've observed on social media, they would rather care about the representation of white women in the video game industry, comic book industry, and other meaningless industries that are white male dominated and have little to no minority representation where blacks are almost non-existent and other non-problems that the first world bears then the civil liberties, human rights, and socioeconomic progression of black people.

I respect you as a poster, but this is completely meritless and at times as racist as the the racism you claim to hate.

Your premise that somehow black women are being led around the nose by white feminists is in fact a racist one, and rests on the idea that black women are incapable of thinking for themselves and articulating their own issues and feelings independent of white women. Racist whites love to play this game when it comes to black voting habits as if we are brainwashed in voting democrat, and not a reflection and response to policy and rhetoric as we see fit. Black women should be allowed and encouraged to express their issues about femininity and what challenges and issues they face as women without you guys incessantly hating on them for it. Thats cac sht.

And you totally ignored the part in the article where the author wrote about how Jessica Williams, a black woman, covered street harassment in a much more balanced way that indicted white corporate males as much as, if not more so, than black males

And Im not even gunna acknowledge your position that black women, or black feminists as they were, dont ride for Micheal Brown and other issues that face black men. Thats offensive.

The bottom line is that from what I observe, black women ride for us a lot quicker than y'all wanna ride for them....Black women are cool as long as its on your terms and prescriptions, but the minute they want to try to influence agendas on their terms, yall wanna bite they heads off. Stop insulting black women and acting like they are brainless agents for white people. Thats foul.

I was referring to white feminists in the bolded...not black feminists or black women in general. My whole statement was in regards to white feminists...completely different. I wasn't even talking about black women other than white feminists conveniently leaving them out of the picture even though they've probably been the boldest about issues of gender...but because they don't want to discuss race or are afraid to...they don't want to acknowledge them as a crucial part of the movement which is truly wack.

I see this all the time on tumblr...I've observed them cause I follow alot of feminist blogs on tumblr...many.

I took women's studies classes in college my g...I've been around many white feminists in my life...
