These cats are never glorified. Making a great movie doesn't mean you're glorifying anyone in the movie

Movies like Casino, Goodfellas, The Godfather, etc. might show those guys living the "high life", the power they have and the respect they command.. but there's also another layer in those flicks that show how full of shyt and destructive those guys are to themselves and their "organization". They're supposed to be "family' but they really just use each other for their own personal gain and cover their own ass when it comes time to. People only seem to pay attention to the gangster shyt they do in these movies... same thing with Menace 2 Society.. but their's definitely more to those flicks than that.

Really? Why are people so interested then? Giving something attention is a level of admiration. You are putting some level of importance on it. The best way to show a lack of admiration is to ignore it.

Or I'm a black man who looks at the films and realizes the films rarely glorify these cats. Do we as society glorify gangsters? Yes. Always have. Even in real life we have. But these movies, like black mass or goodfellas or even the godfather do not make these people out to be Angels or good people for that fact. Even if we look at American gangster, frank Lucas' reasons for getting into the the heroin game were much more understandable and justifiable than Henry hill's reasons for "being a gangster" or whitey bulger's
