Right. So many different ways you can interpret that ending because others have argued it was almost a vindication of the methods Fletcher employed to get him to that level

That scene was the personification of what a great jazz musician calls improvisation. It was really neat how they captured that as the ending. The conductor wants total control, but in order for him to make a great jazz musician he must lose it. :sas1:

Still was a good movie, but obviously most people ain’t gonna put up with that teachers shyt. The kid dream was to be a great drummer and he wasn’t gonna let anything stop him. He also clearly wanted validation from his teacher and he got it.

hooked off rip…sometimes you see things and take for granted how much effort, skill, talent and coordination those things take…always heard about this flick but never watched it…didn’t realize it’s 10 years old already…thought it came out a few years ago
