Houston seems to undervalue coleslaw...I guess its not a Texas side.....


This is what an Eastern NC BBQ meal looks like...switch out white potatoes for sweet potatoes

I have a soft spot for Eastern style. Grew up on Lexington/Western style (tomato based) w/ barbecue cole slaw. Now that's some Carolina shyt.

Carolinas BBQ is boo boo....pulled meat aint Q...I grew uo in KC so of course Im choosing Show me...Gates BBQ with extra sauce on the fries....

Gates is by far the worst BBQ in Kansas City.

Q39, Joe's KC, Jack Stack, Blind Box and Char Bar are the joints you want to check out for BBQ in Kansas City.

To add, I've never had this but I hear LC's has the best burnt ends in town.

LC is good, idk about ribs don't eat pork.
Certain people don't like gates and not because of the food

Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q based in Decatur, Alabama just won the World Championship Barbecue Contest in Memphis for the 5th time (a record) since 2000......

I'm not saying Alabama has the amount of places that a Texas has or the names of some of these places, but you can get good barbecue in this state also. Jim 'N Nicks, Full Moon bbq, Dreamland bbq are all chains that started in Alabama. Not to say every location in a chain will be great, because they won't. I'm sure most states have at least 1 place that people would enjoy eating barbecue at. A lot of places I've been to seem to have 1 product (meat) they do well, and the others can be iffy.

Texas. That brisket takes it over the top to me. Not a fan of Eastern NC bbq. Must try Memphis though. To me, Texas bbq is best in the Austin/SA area. Lockhart, Bastrop, Marble Falls, Elgin areas. Franklins is probably the best in Austin.

KC bbq is like that shoutout to Q39, Joes KC and Charbar...I use to live in NC and that pulled pork shyt taste good but like they said only from the eastern parts...I don’t eat pork no more so I can’t fukk with it but when I did I thought it was good..has like a Smokey vinegar taste..Texas BBQ is highly over rated it’s just regular cuts and sauces nothing special..Memphis bbq is cool but I like Smokey taste not sweet

As someone who's lived in Texas, NC, and TN... Texas has by far the most overrated BBQ in America.

Memphis is the BBQ king and it aint even a competition.

Texas bbq is roast beef.
