There was this girl from my high school.....two years behind me. As far as complexion goes, she was Denise Huxtable, maybe a shade darker. Now this entire time in high school, I thought she was just a typical black girl because she looked black, she hung with the black girls, she only talked to the black girls. Our high school was evenly split, half white and half black. Basically two worlds segregated in one building. I wonder why the white students there didn't recognize her mixed status and include her in their social circle
I wonder why the white kids didn't say "oh wait...you're a bit lighter than the other blacks, you must be one of us"
