I don’t see how. The Bucks play well through adversity a lot of their games have gone down to the minute or have involved come backs.
Harden cannot be trusted to fight off runs, go clutch shot for clutch shot, or play well in must win playoff games.
The 2018 Rockets are one of the greatest teams to never win a championship. The Bucks could have very easily lost the last two games against the Suns and while the Suns are a certainly a good team, they aren't in the same tier as that Rockets team. The 2018 Rockets are better than the Suns at pretty much every facet of the game besides shooting and even then, they shot threes at a higher volume. The Rockets are a better defensive team than the Suns, better at rebounding, have a significantly better and more efficient first option, have the younger and more explosive version of CP3, have the better rim-running and defensive big in Capela, have a better tertiary scoring option in Gordon, have better defensive wings in Tucker and Luc. There's a reason they were in position to beat one of the greatest teams of all time.
You're oversimplifying Harden's playoff record.. Harden's playoff efficiency as a Rocket is actually similar to KD's as a Thunder. KD's efficiency decreased pretty significantly from the regular season to the playoffs in OKC and he was never given the playoff choker label. Harden has had plenty of great playoff series' against elite competition:
- In his 2020 series against the Lakers (the best defense in the league) he scored 29 PPG on 66 TS% despite facing double teams and playing with an injured Westbrook.
- In his 2015 series against the Warriors he averaged 28.4 PPG on 63 TS%
- In his 2019 series against the Warriors he averaged 34 PPG on 60 TS% (better production and efficiency than both Steph and KD).
Harden always carried an insane scoring and playmaking load as a Rocket so naturally his efficiency would wax and wane in the playoffs. However, to suggest that he's this irredeemable playoff choker is just feeding into narratives. His first round performance against the Celtics this season showed how effective Harden can be in a reduced role with better teammates.
