Where It’s Not Safe
Name 3 things yall add to the culture and TBH Chicago probably been the biggest influencer of black culture in recent years. They the reason like 8 out every 10 young brehs you see on the street has dreads
Most young brehs got dreads cuz of the South....Wayne + Waka Flocka

I used to assume if I saw a dreadhead he was either from my city (DC) or the South....

The good brehs of PHI

"Atlanta has long been known as a center of black wealth, political power and culture; a cradle of the Civil Rights Movement[1] and home to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It has often been called a "black mecca".

Atlanta is home to the Atlanta University Center (AUC), the largest contiguous consortium of historically-black colleges, comprising Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Spelman College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Interdenominational Theological Center. The first of these colleges were established shortly after the Civil War and have made Atlanta one of the historic centers of black intellecutalism and empowerment.

Many of the nation's most successful African Americans matriculated through the AUC. See: List of Morehouse College alumni; List of alumni from Clark Atlanta University; Spelman College alumnae

As of the early 2010s, Georgia State University's student body has been majority black. Georgia State University is the largest university in Georgia and annually awards the highest numbers of bachelor's degrees to blacks in the nation.

I could go on and on here...

Give ATL some props :francis:

No Sir Im a young breh in the south with dreads and while they were popular in certain areas like New Orleans and Florida after Chief Keef blew in like 12/13 literally everybody everywhere started growing them. It was sort of the natural progression tho because at that point we were all rocking the Afros with the tapered sides

Where would Black Culture be without NYC, Detroit, DMV, Philly, Memphis, Chicago, New Orleans, Miami, Charleston/Low Country, Birmingham, Oakland/Bay Area, LA, etc.? :ohhh:

Stateside-wise, other than Georgia, where would Black Culture be right now without North Carolina, New York, California, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Texas, Missouri, and Louisiana? :ohhh:

Bare in mind that Black Culture consists of not just music and dance, but also art, cuisines, fashion, economics, languages/dialects, family structure, political dynamics, religion/spirituality, etc.

ATL and Georgia in general have made significant contributions to Black Culture but is Black Culture somehow doomed or downgraded if ATL and GA never existed or were never in the state that they’re currently in? :jbhmm:
