Where does Once Upon a Time In Hollywood rank among Quentin Tarantino's other movies?

I said this in the other thread that I felt bad for Leo having to actually act his ass off while Brad gets to just chill and be himself and get all the glory.

But I do believe you're selling Jaoquin short, dude killed his role.
If all you got out of Brad's performance is he got chill and be himself you missed the entire point of the movie

The movie had a point? :ohhh:

Please explain wise one. :unimpressed:
The Cliff Booth character has a cool demeanor because he's messed up internally. He has a has been working for a has been. A middle aged man who resorts to being a go fer. He can't get a job because of the rumors of him killing his wife. He has violent outbursts which may result in some sort of trauma from his past. I think Brad did a great job of portraying the cool, but also you know this guy is fukked up complexity. Joe Pesci would have got the Oscar if it was up to me, but can't be mad at Pitt's win.

Near the bottom, I dont even remember Leo doing much in this movie.

Pitt scenes carried the movie.

And, I say that has a huge fan of Leo
While you’re entitled to your opinion, I disagree. The entirety of his acting on the set of Lancer, from his failure to get his lines down, having a comical but sobering breakdown in his trailer, before going back on set and acing the scene and getting heaps of praise was phenomenal acting. He ran the gambit of being a whiney blowhard, to being sympathetic, and finally being confident again in his element. It’s one of my favorite sequences in the whole movie

Joaquin was good, but I think this Oscar was because of the transformation rather than the actual performance. It happened last year with Rami Malek and the year before with Churchill. It's what the Oscars do with that category, but Leo was the best actual acting performance. If I watch this movie again it'll be because of Leo.
The irony of this is thats how leo won for the revenant.

but to the topic, i have it 4th but im also not a huge QT guy.

I love all of his films. That being said, this is probably my least favorite.

hey joe.

I guess this will be the one time i rant in conclusion on tarantino.

so I will be game and give a rant and rating.

on the films I can remember without any online research or movie shelf viewings.

kill bill volume one : May be the best female hero action movie ever made.
that is not a creature feature with Sigourney weaver as Ripley.
I may have to keep thinking on this one.
although, i believe it is the best b movie female action hero revenge film in domestic American film I have seen or know of that is be really regarded as incredible and not a hack trying to revenue grab. With wack critics paid off to lie like star wars episode eight and nine.

inglorious basterds
Jackie brown
death proof : One of my favs. As he attempts to hack Spielberg with female characterization, with the villain and of course, the automobile.
reservoir dogs
pulp fiction : emasculates and then buckbreaks black males. disguised behind another gateway black character hollywood hall off fame film lore.
jango : Attempts to do all of the above in pulp fiction. While mid film.
trying to right the wrongs of birth of a nation meets blazing saddles based satire.

magnificent whatever : The wack gay western movie, that was good till tarantino tried to weaponize Sam Jackson even more than JACKSON has been weaponized.
totally showcasing the real racist behind tarantino.
that moving forward into Hollywood.
has lead tatantino to create Smokey and the bandit racist white as the driven snow hero's as avatars. Yet since Quentin thinks he is tarantino.
thinks no one is keen enough to recognize his misappropriation bullshyt.

fukk tarantino.

Hollywood and his long ass b movie wordy film title.
is tarantino's attempt to.
now say he was an agent in tricknology.
to misappropriate everything from black drawing films into white Hollywood.
as b movies are nuffin more.
than misappropriated wanna be white versions of sweet sweetback at the end of the day.
just, With a different motif or genre/time period attached to it. Sprinkled with birth of a nation hiding in the corner.
attached to a revenue grab slave occupation settled industry.

don't be fooled by these dolts.

and,...a ho ho ho and a bottle of dumb.

cause,...you're stoopid.

Are we talking writing, directing, or producing?

If we're talking about writing, for me it goes like this:

1. Pulp Fiction
2. Jackie Brown
3. Django Unchained
4. Reservoir Dogs
5. Kill Bill Vol. 2
6. Inglourious Basterds
7. Kill Bill Vol. 1
8. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
9. Grindhouse/Death Proof
10. The Hateful Eight

It actually might be close to last for me and that’s in no way saying it’s wack, but it’s definitely not one of my favorites from him. I’ve only seen it once so maybe it will age better on a second viewing but I got it above death proof but behind hateful eight.

Inglorious basterds
Pulp fiction
Kill Bill Vol 1
Django Unchained
Reservoir Dogs
Jackie Brown
Kill Bill Vol 2
Hateful Eight
Once upon
Death proof

There are moments in the movie I love but for the most part it didn’t move me like anything I have ahead of it. I get what it’s saying and what it’s doing and why it has the pace it has but yeah it’s just something I like rather than love. Death proof is the only film he’s done I can say I don’t like overall.
