I disagree wholeheartedly... prime Kobe was a more prolific scorer (which is overstated, because Kobe has always taken far more shots and is less efficient)

Bron affects the game in more ways, his playmaking skills and versatility on both ends of the floor gives him the decisive edge IMO

lebron is a better playmaker, but prime kobe didn't have the luxury of having teammates that complimented his game/had talent like lebron does right now.

kobes prime (05/06-07/08) his teammates weren't very talented, they didn't defend well, they weren't intelligent and he didn't really have shooters to space up the floor for him

kobe got his last 2 rings with very talented teams, but even still those rosters didn't compliment kobe very well....they were just more talented than everyone else.

answer the question, clown.

according to your logic, putting defensive/non-offensive players on stars can wear them down, since they only play one side of the ball.

or does your criteria change when its convenient?
Stop it man, you're embarrassing yourself. Obviously the post about Lebron being better than any version of Kobe hurt your feelings, correct? Either rack that brain of yours to come up with a retort, or just take it and KIM. Trying to get me back by rehashing an old topic is just pathetic. I'm not going to take anything I've said back, you want to rehash that old stuff then bump that old thead. Stay on topic.

Lebron James in his prime litterally has Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and 3 dead eye knock down 3 point shooters.

When has Kobe ever had a team like that?

Even the 01 Lakers Had Kobe, Shaq, and _______

thats not prime kobe though. that wasnt even kobes team

im talking about kobe who was dropping 81 and had nba players worshipping him and asking for his autographs after games.....surround him with 2 all stars and some shooters... :wow:

even chalmers dumb ass serves a purpose. he would have been far and away prime kobes 2nd best teammate :dead:

I'm sayin Lebron was getting pieces and players even in Cleveland... Kobe was on an Island with no nikkas from 05-08 which was his absolute peak and prime...

I'm not hating on Lebron at all, he just got luckier than Kobe with regard to pieces. I mean Dwyane Wade was a top 5 player when LBJ joined the Heat and Bosh was easily top 10... 3 top 10 players on one team is pretty much unheard of in the history of team sports.

they had stacked teams back in the day when there were like 23 teams...but yeah 3 top 15 players in a 30 team league is :wow: especially when 1 of em is the best in the league and the other is in some peoples top 5

fair enough, but I think that's over-simplifying the situation... Kobe was hindered by the lack of talent around him in those first few post-Shaq years, but at the same time, had he been given a legitimate 2nd option earlier, his numbers wouldn't be nearly as eye-opening because he wouldn't have a green light to the same extent that he did... the fact that Lebron clearly makes the players around him better while also still getting his on O and dominating a game in ways other than scoring is what makes him a top 5 talent all time to me

now while Bron won a ship with arguably the most talented roster in the league (I think OKC's roster is better, but that's for another day), but you can't discredit him for such considering Kobe's teams have only won championships when his roster was also the most talented in the league

Did Bron lose last year when his team was the most talented in the NBA? Yes, but Kobe did the same in 04, so Kobe stans can't throw dirt on his name using that either

LA was on some other shyt :why:

a Joe Johnson/Andre Idoudala type would've sufficed back then. Roster was Kobe, Odom & 10 nobodies.

:youngsabo: at Fisher leaving after the Pistons Finals & returning the season we got Pau :youngsabo:

I think as a function of watching Lebron the public has become really impressed with 25/_/_, which is impressive, but understand that prime Kobe could score as many points as he wanted, WHEN HE WANTED. His game was flawless in his prime, LITERALLY! There was nothing he couldn't do on a basketball court.

He did shyt like give Charlotte 58, UTA 52, Houston 53...let me put it into more perspective.
This is all the same season BTW, in a 4 game stretch in the 06 - 07 season from 3/16 to 3/23...

Kobe scored 65, 50, 60, and 50 in consecutive games. The fukk?! That dude was a basketball God in his prime!

While I'll never deny that Kobe has a scoring talent that LeBron doesn't, it still doesn't necessarily make him better than LeBron

LBJ is pretty much as close as it gets to #1 as most well-rounded player
